‘Bad’ feels different from Don Diablo’s other productions, but still has that signature future house flair that he has perfected, and that is the beauty of this track. His ability to take on sounds that are completely new to him whilst striking that blend of familiarity is why he is a leader among the future house scene and the electronic scene as a whole. Zak Abel’s vocals are perfect for this track, and together with the futuristic, sultry synths, this makes for one of Don’s best releases yet and a great way to end the month on. The pulsating beats embedded all throughout the track’s duration create the perfect atmosphere for dancing and raising your hands in the air.

I feel bad, bad, bad about it
You gon' wait until way past midnight
Just to catch me up when I come home
You stay up to wait for my headlight
Shine across the window so you know (yeah)
I should tone it down while I can't but
I been way across town and I've been down
I've been fucking around and I've been caught
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again, do it, do it again)
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again)
You say
You say, "How could you ever
Treat me like you ever?" (How could you ever treat me like you ever?)
You say, "How could you ever
Treat me like you ever?" (How could you ever treat me like you ever?)
You say
You gon' wait until way past midnight
Just to catch me up when I come home
You don't sleep until I apologize
For everything that I have done
I could say all the right things that you
Want me to and then we be all good
But I'd be lying if I told you
I wouldn't do it again 'cause I would
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again, do it, do it again)
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again)
You say, "How could you ever
Treat me like you ever?" (How could you ever treat me like you ever?)
"How could you ever
Treat me like you ever?" (How could you ever treat me like you ever?)
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again, do it, do it again)
I feel bad, bad, bad about it (bad about it)
But I wanna do it again (do it again)

The song "Bad" by Don Diablo and Zak Abel explores the theme of infidelity and the guilt that comes with it. The lyrics are from the perspective of the cheater who acknowledges the hurt they have caused their partner but admits to wanting to do it again. The first verse sets the scene of the partner waiting up for the singer to come home, and the guilt is evident in the "I feel bad, bad, bad about it" repetition. The singer's desire to "tone it down" suggests an inner conflict between wanting to be faithful and their inability to resist temptation.
The chorus repeats the "I feel bad" phrase but adds the conflicting desire to repeat the infidelity. The partner's voice is heard in the second verse, questioning how the singer could treat them like this. The partner's pain is palpable as they stay up waiting for an apology that may never come. The singer admits that they could say "all the right things" but deep down, they know they would do it again. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus and the partner's questioning, emphasizing the ongoing hurt and the complicated emotions that come with infidelity.
