Day's film career began during the latter part of the Classical Hollywood Film era with the 1948 film Romance on the High Seas, and its success sparked her twenty-year career as a motion picture actress. She starred in a series of successful films, including musicals, comedies, and dramas. She played the title role in Calamity Jane (1953), and starred in Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) with James Stewart. Her most successful films were the bedroom comedies she made co-starring Rock Hudson and James Garner, such as Pillow Talk (1959) and Move Over, Darling (1963), respectively. She also co-starred in films with such leading men as Clark Gable, Cary Grant, David Niven, and Rod Taylor. After her final film in 1968, she went on to star in the CBS sitcom The Doris Day Show (1968–1973).
Day was usually one of the top ten singers between 1951 and 1966. As an actress, she became the biggest female film star in the early 1960s, and ranked sixth among the box office performers by 2012. In 2011, she released her 29th studio album, My Heart, which became a UK Top 10 album featuring new material. Among her awards, Day has received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a Legend Award from the Society of Singers. In 1960, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, and in 1989 was given the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in motion pictures. In 2004, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush followed in 2011 by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association's Career Achievement Award. She was one of the last surviving stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Her death was announced by her charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation, on Monday 13th May 2019.

Ooh! Bang! Jiggilly Jang!
Doris Day Lyrics

Why I love him so
He's different from
The other boys I know
Some have ginger
And some have snap
Some have this
But my guy, all he's got
Is ooh bang jiggilly jang
Some have kisses
That taste so sweet
Taste like taters
Or taste like meat
But my guy, what a flavor
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
My bonnie lies over the mmm
My bonnies lies over the
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
There's nobody lies
Like my bonnie
But even though my
Bonnie lies to me
I forgive him cause
Some are charming
And some have looks
Some have money
And some read books
But my guy, he's got
So much ooh bang jiggilly jang
My bonnie lies over the mmm
My bonnies lies over the
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
There's nobody lies
Like my bonnie
But even though my
Bonnie lies to me
I forgive him cause
Some are charming
And some have looks
Some have money
And some read books
But my guy, all he's got
Is ooh bang jiggilly jang
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
Ooh bang jiggilly jang
The song "Ooh! Bang! Jiggilly Jang!" by Doris Day is a playful and upbeat ode to the singer's beloved. The lyrics describe how her guy may not have the same qualities and features as other boys she knows but what he lacks in those, he makes up with his unique style of passion, which is referred to as "ooh bang jiggilly jang." Day uses a lighthearted and almost nonsensical vocabulary to describe the appeal of her beau, making the song an entertaining listen. The use of onomatopoeia and nonsense sounds such as "ooh bang jiggilly jang" adds to the song's fun and quirky vibe.
Day also muses about her forgiving nature towards her boyfriend, despite his untruthfulness. She acknowledges that while some guys have charming dispositions, good looks, or money, her guy's allure is based on his "ooh bang jiggilly jang." The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "ooh bang jiggilly jang" as if to emphasize the uniqueness of her beau's passionate style.
Overall, "Ooh! Bang! Jiggilly Jang!" is a fun and catchy song that celebrates the eccentricities that make our loved ones unique and special. The use of playful and cartoonish language adds to the song's appeal and makes it a memorable and enjoyable listen.

I’m here because I was at the MHT-Music hall tavern in Lanzarote and one of the drag queens (miss Jessica) preformed to this song and now I’m absolutely obsessed with it.

Doris day's voice really did change over the years, as she got older I wonder how her voice cracked or got to a point where she didn't want to try to compare yourself to her pas???
