@@Heaven_World432 Hi again Arif,

You ask a very interesting and common question about the body when meditating.

The first answer is probably the 'official' answer and that is, we can use meditation as a practise to befriend the body, notice it, become aware of sensations and simply to observe them - without letting them distract us. Personally, I find this very difficult and, like you, the uncomfortable sensations in my body take away my ability to meditate successfully.

I spent many years beating myself up for 'not being able to meditate properly' or for having a body that would not 'let' me meditate, but that didn't help at all. All it did was cause more stress!

So, I prefer a more compassionate approach for myself and I wonder if this might help you as well.

Firstly, I have discovered that my body likes to lie down to meditate. Many people warn against this, suggesting that we are more likely to fall asleep. And sometimes we do, but I also accept that we get what we need at any given time. So, if sleep is more important to me, my body will sleep. But if meditation is more important then I will enjoy a good meditation, even when I lie down.

The second idea is that you experiment and find a more comfortable sitting position. So instead of sitting upright in a chair for example, you might prefer to sit on the floor. One of my favourite, and most comfortable positions, is to squat! Not many people like to do that, but I can squat very comfortably for a long time. Another position that is very comfortable for me is to sit on the edge of a mattress on the floor (I sleep on the floor) and tuck my feet under me. Again, I can sit for quite some time like this. So, I would encourage you to discover which positions might work for you.

The third thing I'd like to say is that it's ok to move! You do not have to choose one position and then stay there like a statue for the next half an hour. You might be a natural fidget (I know I am!), so give yourself permission to move around or adjust your body if you are so uncomfortable you’re no longer able to focus.

I've long since thrown out all the 'shoulds' around meditation. For me, it's about befriending my body and mind. It's about discipline too, of course it is, but I like to find the compromise. So, experiment with positions, give yourself permission to move or fidget (whilst still listening to, and engaging with, the meditations) and if you prefer to lie down for a better experience, then do that!

Be kind to yourself. There are no rules, it's all about discovering what works best for you.

@@mrrabid9602 hey again :) What great questions - thank you!

For me personally, I do something different to Dr Joe's work. I ended up recording all these sessions because I had so many requests and such wonderful feedback - so really it's my gift to others, rather than 'here's what I do' sharing!

What helps me connect with the divine version of myself is multi faceted. Some of these include:

Internal Family Systems work (IFS) - check out Richard Schwartz
Lynne McTaggart's Power of 8 Intention Groups
EFT - emotional Freedom Technique
Brain rewiring(neuroplasticity - Bruce Lipton is a good introduction to this)
My own meditation / mindfulness practices
Sometimes (and my favourite way) is when it just happens spontaneously - those times are ecstatic ;)
I do a lot of clearing work based on things like A Course in Miracles too

But I also dwell in my humanness, feeling the illusion of separateness, getting caught up in less-than-helpful reactions when I'm triggered and all that stuff. This is a journey, right? I'm not sure there's a destination, at least while we're in this incarnation ;)

@Dbiss

Which other meditations do you do?

@joyceflowers5215

You have the best delivery of Joe Dispenzas meditations by far. I listen to all four daily. Thank you🧘‍♀️

@TheHealthandWellnessGrid

Wow, thank you! What a lovely comment - thank you Joyce and well done for committing to listening to all four daily; that's wonderful.

@MukeshVerma-kw4os

I thought that the week 4 meditation would supersede the other meditations (week 1-3). Is this not the case?

@TheHealthandWellnessGrid

@@MukeshVerma-kw4os No, you listen to parts 1,2,3 and 4 in order. They are in a playlist to make that simpler for you :) I haven't edited them together to make one long recording.
