The band formed in February 2005 by Adam and played their first gig (a set of covers) at a MYB in Macclesfield two days later (the gig was actually booked before they had a drummer). They were received very well and all five guys decided to take things seriously (the idea had originally been just for the one show). A couple of months later and Drive Like I Do (or Me and You vs Them at the time) started to write original material and since then have recorded two 4 track demos, one in July at the Cutting Rooms in Manchester and the latest in Newcastle in October

The song "One Wish" by Drive Like I Do explores themes of both regret and the passage of time. The repetitive nature of the lyrics emphasizes the feeling of being trapped in a cycle, unable to change or alter the course of events. The mention of one moment until getting older suggests a fleeting sense of youth and the realization that time is slipping away.
The line "Well, I couldn't save you" could be interpreted as a reflection on missed opportunities or failed attempts to change the outcome of a situation. It speaks to a sense of powerlessness in the face of circumstances and the regret of not being able to make a difference. The repetition of this line further emphasizes the feeling of helplessness.
The song's chorus, with the repeated phrase "One wish one wish," could be seen as a longing for a chance to go back and make a different choice. It expresses a desire to have one wish granted, to have the power to alter the past and change the course of events.
Overall, "One Wish" captures a sense of nostalgia and reflection on the passing of time. It explores the universal themes of regret, powerlessness, and the longing for a second chance.
