The lyrics of Dumas's song "L'amour en fuite" describe the journey of the singer as he heads towards the metro station of St-Michel with a sense of purpose and anticipation. The opening lines say, "Je descends te rejoindre en métro station St-Michel" which can be translated to "I'm heading down to meet you at St-Michel metro station". The singer seems to be on a mission, with "Une mission, mille secrets et peut-être l’amour à nos trousses", which means "A mission, a thousand secrets and maybe love on our tails". This line suggests that the singer is carrying secrets, and his journey could lead to unexpected romantic encounters.
The song depicts a sense of adventure and excitement as the singer boards the train, with "Une missive, un message comme un métro vers l’inconnu" which means "A message, a letter like a subway to the unknown". The singer believes that his journey could lead him towards the unknown, and it seems like he is prepared for it.
Later in the song, the singer calls the recipient of his secrets and hopes to find refuge and comfort in their company. He is in a desperate situation and needs someone to confide in, with "Ton épaule, mes secrets, sur les rails l’amour en fuite." which means "Your shoulder, my secrets, on the rails, love on the run." The singer seems to be running from something or someone, and he needs love and support to get through it.
Overall, "L'amour en fuite" is a song that captures the essence of adventure, mystery, and love. The singer's journey on the subway represents his journey in life, towards the unknown, with a sense of purpose and anticipation.
