Night In Tunisia
Eddie Higgins Lyrics

As I gaze out of my window
At the moon in it's flight
My thoughts all stray, stray to you
In the still of the night
While the world lies in slumber
Oh the times without number
Do you love me
Just like I love you
Are you my life to be
That dream come true
Or will this dream of mine
Will it fade way out of sight
Just like that moon growing dim
Way out on the rim of the hill
In the still of the night
The lyrics of Eddie Higgins's song, In the Still of the Night, depict a person’s longing for love and affection. The song creates a peaceful atmosphere, as the singer observes the night sky and reflects upon their emotions. The singer’s thoughts wander to someone they love, questioning whether that person loves them in return. They wonder if their love will be reciprocated, hoping that their dream of love will come true. The imagery of the moon in flight adds to the mood of the song, as the singer looks up at the sky and imagines a future with their loved one. Throughout the song, the singer emits an aura of vulnerability, as they admit that they do not want their dream of love to fade away into the night like the dimming moon in the sky.

In the still of the night
During the quiet hours of the night
As I gaze out of my window
Looking out my window
At the moon in it's flight
Watching the moon in the sky
My thoughts all stray, stray to you
My mind wanders and I think of you
While the world lies in slumber
When everyone else is asleep
Oh the times without number
Many times before
When I say to you
I ask you
Do you love me
Do you have feelings for me
Just like I love you
As intensely as I do
Are you my life to be
Will you be my partner
That dream come true
The wish I hope will happen
Or will this dream of mine
Will this hope of mine
Will it fade way out of sight
Will it disappear and never come true
Just like that moon growing dim
Like the moon losing its brightness
Way out on the rim of the hill
On the edge of the horizon
In the still of the night
During the quiet hours of the night
