He was born to a Nigerian mother and Jamaican father and began to play with a battery-operated keyboard at a very young age. At the age of 18, he decided to live in Jamaica for four years, where he was met artists that contributed to his love of reggae.
Upon returning to Nigeria, he formed a band, and following numerous television appearances, he made a trip to Europe in 2001. There in the Netherlands, he was acquainted with the producers Longoni and Groff. After a live concert, his new producers took him to Italy, where he met several artists and DJs. In the Autumn of 2003, Wata and his producers decided to profit from his music, and success followed the 2004 release of "Jam". He also collaborated with Italian DJ Gabry Ponte in his song "A Silvia", in which Wata provided reggae-like English vocals.

Got the feeling now?
You say:
my dream i want my love
my dream i want my love
only to be with you
my dream i want my love
my love is just for you
my dream i want my love
only to be with you
I like the booty girl
girl I like the way you roll it
You roll it a booty girl
The lyrics of Eddy Wata's song "My Dream" seem to be about the singer's desire for love and connection with a specific person. The repetition of the phrase "my dream" suggests that this love is something they have been longing for, possibly even in their subconscious dreams. The focus on the "booy girl" in the last line may be an acknowledgment of physical attraction, but is still tied back to the idea of finding love and connection with another person.
The repetition of the phrase "my love is just for you" underscores the idea of exclusivity and devotion to this one person. It implies that the singer has found someone that they truly care for and want to be with, even singing "only to be with you." The use of "shake the boom boom" and "the dancehall" suggests that this song is meant to be a dance-floor anthem, encouraging listeners to let go of their inhibitions and embrace the joy and freedom found in romantic love.
Overall, the lyrics of "My Dream" seem to be a celebration of love and the joy that can be found when two people come together in a relationship. While there is some recognition of physical attraction, the focus is very much on emotional and spiritual connection with another person.
