The oblivion and ecstasy of crushing doom and high grade marijuana, a sonic aural trip far, far away from this world, where only cyclopean walls of crackling vintage tube amps in full overdrive and primal ritualistic beats can wash away all the filth and drudgery of everyday life. Their music can be described as Doom Metal. Their sound is a crushing behemoth of funeral march psychedelia. Violent, bleak and ritualistic.
Born in Dorset, England in 1993, in a quiet country town, initially they were the product of frustration, unemployment and excessive drug abuse. But through hallucinogenic experimentation and occult sciences they realized their true potential. A celebration of outre low brow art like Weird Tales, 70's horror and B-movies, head shop art, drug comix, italian pornohorror comics, Crepax, Lovecraft, Howard etc. etc...coupled with a morbid fascination in cults, witchcraft, freemasonry, biker culture, mysticism and ancient occult sciences and how these dark arts can be applied to music.
Their history actually starts in 1988 when Justin Oborn created a doom-influenced death metal band called Lord of Putrefaction. The above mentioned band released only several demos but it showed the unique talent of Justin Oborn in the art of creating heavy slow riffs. In 1992 Lord of Putrefaction disbanded and Justin Oborn started another band called Thy Grief Eternal which moved more towards the doom metal genre though still it had significant death metal influence. The music was more refined and mature. Then in 1993 Thy Grief Eternal was disbanded and the band Eternal was crated. This band played pure stoner doom though the quality can't even come close to the next and the last band in this history, Electric Wizard. Mark Greening left Ramesses to re-join the band in late 2012.

I Am Nothing
Electric Wizard Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We have created this abyss, darkness, surrounding us
Raise the flag of hate against this human race
Rise and kill & wipe them all away....
I Am Nothing
I Mean Nothing
I See Nothing
We the Old Ones did not forget
We are the Supercoven, we wait with bated breath
They think themselves as Gods ..now are they free?
Mindless slaves to their lusts and technology
I Am Nothing
I Mean Nothing
I See Nothing
I Feel Nothing....as I kill you
I Am Nothing
I Feel Nothing
I Am Nothing
You Are Nothing....
To Me...
Nothing...
Nothing...
I Feel Nothing as I kill you
The lyrics of Electric Wizard's song "I Am Nothing" can be interpreted in a variety of ways, but they are generally about the existential rage and hatred of the living dead, or the "stillborn children" and "Saturn's children" who have created an abyss, a darkness that surrounds them. This is a reference to the idea that humanity has created its own hell on Earth, where there is no redemption, and no way out. The deep-seated anger of the undead in the song is directed towards the living, whom they see as mindless slaves to their own desires and technology.
The lyrics also contain a theme of vengeance and punishment, as the undead seek to "raise the flag of hate against this human race" and "wipe them all away." There is a sense of the past returning to haunt the present, as the "Old Ones" and their "Supercoven" are waiting for their moment of revenge. The idea of the gods being enslaved by their own lusts and technologies is a recurring motif in Electric Wizard's music, and it reflects the band's interest in the dark side of human nature and the consequences of unchecked power.
In summary, "I Am Nothing" is a powerful and brutal song that expresses the rage and despair of the living dead, who see themselves as nothing, and see the living as even less. It is a warning about the dangers of hubris and the consequences of a society that has lost its way.

Stillborn children. Saturn's children, the living dead
We have created so much destruction that even the unborn are affected. Our actions have led to a lifeless, suffocating existence. We are the ones who are bringing ruin to the world.
Raise the flag of hate against this human race
Our hatred for humanity has reached a point where we are calling for its destruction. We are ready to rise up against anyone who stands in our way.
Rise and kill & wipe them all away....
We desire to eliminate all those who oppose us. We will rise to the occasion and kill everyone who stands in our path, until there is no one left.
I Am Nothing. I Mean Nothing. I See Nothing. I Feel Nothing...as I kill you
Killing has become like second nature to us, we are numb to any feelings of remorse. To us, killing is nothing. We don't care about your existence, we don't even recognize you as a human, and as such we don't feel a thing as we take your life.
We the Old Ones did not forget. We are the Supercoven, we wait with bated breath
We are a group of powerful people who remember how the world used to be. We are waiting patiently for the day when we can return to that time.
They think themselves as Gods..now are they free? Mindless slaves to their lusts and technology
Others may consider themselves as superior beings, but in reality, they have become slaves to their own desires and modern technology.
I Am Nothing. I Feel Nothing. I Am Nothing. You Are Nothing.... To Me...Nothing...Nothing...I Feel Nothing as I kill you
We have fully embraced our nihilism, and no longer see the value in anything, including human life. We hold no value for any living being including you. We feel nothing as we take your life.

@Ras al Hanout You seem obsessed with this video and proving people wrong. Listen to what you like and let people enjoy whatever brings happiness to them.

@Кислотная ведьма Just staggers me that anybody would think it anything other than watered-down Sabb slop. Keep on rockin' brother! 🤘✝️☠⚡
Кислотная ведьма
@Ras al Hanout This belongs to the genre pretty much solely based on sabbath's riffs, so the resemblance is a given. But I personally think and feel that they evolved beyond just being a copy and brought their touch and perception of the same idea. But I know that not everyone is hearing and feeling same things - it's fascinating how different we are as people.
Keep on rocking too!

@Кислотная ведьма I'm being a bit facetious, I do dig it - it's a Sabbath distillation yeah. Anyway yes rock on!! 🤘
