Their first album Esperanto (1993) features guest vocals by Andy McCluskey (of OMD) on the track Kissing The Machine. The tracks "Crosstalk" and "Overdrive" were co-written with Kraftwerk collaborator Emil Schult, who also created the graphics for early Elektric Music releases. The sound of ‘Esperanto’ is reminiscent of Kraftwerk and the more recent solo work of Karl Bartos.
Manteuffel left the group following the release of 'Esperanto' and all future releases were credited to Bartos alone. The second eponymous titled album (now spelled Electric Music) appeared in 1998 and represented something of a departure in style. Envisaged as an exploration of 60’s pop music, this album was less driven by the electronic sound normally associated Bartos and Kraftwerk and sought to create "guitar pop out of the computer!" The single "Sunshine" (1998) remains the last release credited to Elektric Music as Bartos reverted to using his name for the album Communication
Out of This World

When I carry on
To look at you girl
'Cause you're out of this world
I can't keep it inside my mind
How can you put me down
Whenever I"m around ?
Enough is enough
Why do you treat me so unkind ?
I'm breaking away
From my former life I had left behind
Let's call it a day
Before too long I'll go out of my mind
I can't find no love within
It's all gone down the drain
And won't come back again
I always get the blame
It's driving me insane
Now I understand
You're a fair-weather friend
You've been cheating on me again
I'm breaking away
From my former life I had left behind
Let's call it a day
Before too long I'll go out of my mind
I can't find no love within
It's all gone down the drain
And won't come back again
You took me to a place
Where I never had been before
I found myself in a race
Going on for ever more
I turned around and you didn't wait
To stab me in the back
Get the message now
I'm gonna leave you flat
I can't find no love within
It's all gone down the drain
And won't come back again
I'm breaking away
From my former life I had left behind
Let's call it a day
Before too long I'll go out of my mind
I can't find no love within
It's all gone down the drain
And won't come back
The lyrics of "Out Of This World" by Elektric Music express feelings of love, confusion, and hurt. The song tells the story of a person who is deeply in love with someone, but that person is unaware of their feelings. The singer can't keep their admiration for this person inside and often looks at them without meaning to. However, the person they love treats them unkindly, cheats on them, and blames them for everything that goes wrong. The final straw is when they realize that this person is a fair-weather friend and has been cheating on them again. The singer decides to break away from their former life and leave the person they love before they go out of their mind.
The song explores the theme of unrequited love and how it can consume someone's mind and make them feel helpless. Despite being treated poorly, the singer can't help but love the other person, and this love has left them feeling drained and unable to find love within themselves. The line "You took me to a place where I never had been before" can be interpreted as the other person taking the singer's heart to a place of love and vulnerability that they had never experienced before, only to eventually break it.
Overall, "Out Of This World" is a heartfelt song that expresses the pain and confusion that comes with unrequited love.

Don't you get me wrong
Don't misunderstand my intentions
When I carry on
When I continue to express my feelings
To look at you girl
To admire you, beautiful girl
'Cause you're out of this world
Because you are incredibly amazing
I can't keep it inside my mind
I cannot stop thinking about you
How can you put me down
How can you criticize me and make me feel bad?
Whenever I'm around?
When I am in your presence?
Enough is enough
I have had enough of this treatment
Now I'm really turned off
Now I am completely uninterested in you
Why do you treat me so unkind?
Why do you treat me in a cruel manner?
I'm breaking away
I am separating myself
From my former life I had left behind
From my previous existence that I had abandoned
Let's call it a day
Let's end this relationship
Before too long I'll go out of my mind
Soon I will become insane
I can't find no love within
I cannot find any love inside myself
It's all gone down the drain
It has all been wasted
And won't come back again
And it will not return
I always get the blame
I am continually accused
It's driving me insane
It is making me crazy
Now I understand
Now I comprehend
You're a fair-weather friend
You are not a loyal friend
You've been cheating on me again
You have been disloyal to me again
You took me to a place
You brought me to a new, unfamiliar place
Where I never had been before
Where I had never gone before
I found myself in a race
I found myself in a competition
Going on for ever more
Continuing indefinitely
I turned around and you didn't wait
I reversed and you did not wait
To stab me in the back
To betray me
Get the message now
Understand my message now
I'm gonna leave you flat
I am going to abandon you suddenly and completely

Just found this song through my Spotify Weekly suggested playlist. For me it’s one of those songs that makes your hairs stand up the first time you hear it, you only find those every so often. Can’t believe how little exposure it has though..
@ollefahrman5801
I also found it, but on the spotify radio section. The Spotify weekly and radio features are so amazing to discover lesser known great artists.
