Elena is half Aromanian, and half Romanian.She has a sister named Ana who is a journalist, and a brother, Costin. Her mother Marioara Man Gheorghe is a singer, and is the one who inspired her love for music.
When Elena was 3 years old she debuted on the music scene with her mother.While in the fifth grade she joined the Children's National Palace, where she took singing lessons and went on to perform with the "Harmony Circle soloist", participating in contests, and tournaments around the country.
Elena started singing with Mandinga, a very successful band in the 'Latino' genre in early 2003. In June that year, Mandinga released their first album – ...De Corazón. Mandinga was placed 4th in the Romanian National Eurovision Selection in March 2005 with the song My Sun which was awarded a golden disc one year later.
On January 31, 2009, it was revealed that Gheorghe would represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. She performed the song The Balkan Girls. She qualified from Semi Final 1, to reach the Grand Final in 9th place in the first semi Final. In the Grand Final she came 19th with 40 points, with 1 set of 12 points from Moldova.

Cuando escucho esta canción me entra una gran nostalgia, era mi preferida cuando estaba sumamente enamorado.
Escuchar esta canción me recuerda a mis momentos de soledad cuando compartía mi vida con la persona que mas amé.
Vivíamos juntos. De 24 horas al día pasaba 3 sin ella, y me caguen dios... eran horribles.
Toda la euforia tiende a decaer, es lógico, pero hay que se constante con lo que amas cosa que yo no fui.
Adoro esta canción, pero me recuerda a mis momentos de soledad haciéndole daño a la mujer que me amaba, me arrepiento en exceso de disfrutar esta canción sin ella solo por evadir nuestros problemas.
