Before entering the charts, Doolittle toured the UK with her band to gain recognition. This later turned into the "Playground Unplugged" tour where she performed at secondary schools Hagley RC High School, The Magna Carta School, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, Highworth Grammar School and Presdales School.
The first release from Doolittle is a self-titled EP that features four tracks Rollerblades, Moneybox, Police Car and Go Home. This was released on 29 November 2009. Tracks from the EP were remixed by Plastic Little ('Rollerblades'), Sam Young and Jamie xx from The xx ('Money Box'). The EP received radio plays from Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley.
Her debut single Skinny Genes was released on 12 April 2010. The song had featured in a television advert for an online retailer. She told BBC's Steve Lamacq the song is "a funny scenario if you didn’t like someone, if they were really annoying, but you had a good time under the sheets." Doolittle's second release is entitled Pack Up and released on 5 July 2010, debuting at #12 on the Official UK Singles Chart on 11 July 2010.
She recorded the song Running For Life which featured on the soundtrack to the film AdULTHOOD. Doolittle was a special guest on Paloma Faith's concert tour which began on 30 October 2010.

I see those choppers are flying
Wonderin' what they're doin'
If they're lookin' for a girl with curly hair
Turnin' up the music
Just to block out the silence
Dance a little harder
Maybe I'll try to escape
I just want to go home
(I just want to go home)
Unlock these handcuffs and let me go
(Let me go)
I don't know what I've done to you
(Done to you)
I'm not naughty, I tell the truth
(Tell the truth)
Scared of what I don't know
(Scared of what I don't know)
I just want to go
Slidin' up the rail
Up till the top of the staircase
Never gonna happen
Not the way we're actin', not in a million years
Something's already wrong
And everybody's a head case
So I'll just dance a little harder
Dance a little harder, dance a little harder
Tell them I can be good
I just want to go home
(I just want to go home)
Unlock these handcuffs and let me go
(Let me go)
I don't know what I've done to you
(Done to you)
I'm not naughty, I tell the truth
(Tell the truth)
Scared of what I don't know
(Scared of what I don't know)
I just want to go home
I just wanna go home
Put my dancing shoes
Put my dancing shoes on
I'll cha-cha-cha
I'll cha-cha-cha my way home
I won't stop a lot
Goin' through my phone
I ...
The lyrics of Eliza Doolittle’s song Go Home convey a sense of anxiety and a desire to escape. The song starts with the singer hearing helicopters flying, and feeling unnerved about whether they are looking for her. She turns up the music to block out the silence, and dances harder, hoping to escape her worries. However, she feels trapped, as if she is in handcuffs, and just wants to go home. She feels scared but doesn't know what specifically is causing this anxiety which makes her feel helpless. The singer is sliding up the rail up to the staircase, but she knows deep down that something is wrong, and everyone around her seems to be a head case. She continues to dance to try and feel better, even though the music can't quite alleviate her fears.
The overall mood of the song is reflected by the tempo and rhythm, which are upbeat, and cheerful, creating a feeling of energy, yet also anxiety. The lyrics, meanwhile, show an inner struggle, as the singer tries to keep moving forward. She can't quite figure out what is wrong, but she knows that she wants to escape whatever is causing her to feel scared. The singer seeks to block out the distressing thoughts by dancing harder, but ultimately she can't escape her fears. As the song progresses, you feel a sense of the singer's growing desperation to flee the situation. The song is catchy and has a memorable chorus that reinforces the singer's desire to go home.
