They hold the annual concert, A Night In Fantasia, as well as other performances such as Piano Stories. They have recently held Passion, a concert featuring notable video game and anime music in collaboration with Japanese video game composers Yasunori Mitsuda and Hitoshi Sakimoto.

The trumpet soloist is amazing. He gets such a sweet sound from that instrament. It is reminecent of a french horn, but it has got it's definite trumpet sound. And when all of them play together! The blend of the insterments. It is beautiful. Thanks for uploading this!

This song makes me imagine Howl' s childhood and all the mysterous ornaments in his room, which makes Howl so special and magical. The trumpet also reminds me of the horns of ships in the sea.. the stillness and the seemingly everlasting peacefulness.. but it also has the sadness of the realization that everything is prone to change, that the beautiful memories remains beautiful because it stays forever in our memory...

In the actual song, my favorite part is 3:12-3:44. I can just never get over how haunting and beautiful the violins sound and they nearly bring me to tears every time. Words cannot describe how much I love this song. <3

I keep picturing my favorite scene and line... When Sophie is traveling through the dark emptiness, in between the present and Howl's past, and tears are floating around her and when the dog peers back to look at her, she apologizes saying... "Sorry but I can't seem to stop crying," I love that line because by that part in the movie I was totally tearing up and glued to my t.v. holding my breath

my favorite song in the whole world, this right here. it reminds me of Christmas. not that the song itself is Christmas-y, but that warm, wonderful emotion that you feel just touches you. it's so beautiful and sad. i listen to it every day.

Man, that trumpet solo at the beginning... love that. Love all of it, love the film. Myazaki's films (in general films from Studio Ghibli) are so so much better than Disney films.

Howl was a wizard who supposedly captured young women's hearts (as in "fell in love" with them). Sophie is the only girl to ever enter Howl's heart because Howl is courageous about letting his true love (in this case, Sophie) enter his heart. In the part where Howl is shown as a boy, he is seen holding Calcifer in his hand. Sophie sees that Howl's problem was that he had lost his soul, losing the ability to love. Howl then realizes that Sophie would be the one woman he would hold his heart for.

I personally watch a movie 3 times. First time for fun and the story, second time, equally as fun, I pay attention to the music and get hooked, 3rd time I watch the characters really closely and see how they act in the situations they're placed.

this is amazing, it has so much meaning without saying anything you know? it just communicates big things. its like watching a sunset or an ocean... big things, that might be sad but are miracles all the same. the horns at 3 52 arent so subtle, though.

This genre of music, if it represents a trend, can bring a new generation of music lovers to the symphony halls. It is nice to see Hisaishi's music making inroads into the symphony in general. It is my hope to interest symphony orchestras in the US to partake in this phenomena and grow their audiences for a stable, secure existence throought the 21st century.

Hisaishi's music is really good at creating world's for the imagination to thrive in. His music is rich and flows beautifully. He also has amazing range, as this song is quite different from Chateau le Ambulant, while retaining the same quality.

Having heard a lot of music, it is really hard to say what's the greatest ever... but I don't ever recall watching YouTube with my hairs standing and falling and the blood cells inside me moving around to the music... nor do I recall verbally muttering "wow" at the sound of music like I did over the last 6.5 minutes. Well there are similarities between a lot of Joe Hisaishi's songs. It's just his style, which makes it really cool. There is a particular song I heard and it was literally a mix of several movies together. "Oh it's howls.. no wait.. it's laputa..porco no wait .... woah" :p

They are both completely different songs - I listen to 'Sexy and I know It' when I want to have a laugh, or am at a party. I listen to this in more quiet moments of reflection, or to relax. And you have to remember the films of Miyazaki and music of Hisaishi aren't quite as global as those of the Disney studios.

God that solo at the beginning is such beautiful writing.....God it sounds like Hisashi was like "You, principal trumpet. Find the heavyiest, darkest sounding, largest bore orchestral horn ever made and we'll see if it's good enough for what I want".
