Serenade

Digits flash in double time
San Diego just hold on and never mind
Faded again in the lounge
Blood and wine and the water downtown
Here winter kicks out the summer for hanging around
Pass the time and watch the boy get off
See your face and write a blurry line
It's a good day for wishing you were mine
I wish it all the time
Rushing to the slow decay
I don't care what the people say
Days burn up like weed and we're still the same
Shoot me a scene where I'm easy
Where pieces fit and people agree
No one ever sees the way you never cease to save me
Monday comes and everything is wrong
Dull and cold like late December dawn
See your face and ask someone the time
It's a good day for wishing you were mine
I wish it all the time
I wish it all the time
I wish it all the time
The song "Serenade" by Emm Gryner is a poignant and melancholy reflection on the longing and yearning for someone who is not there. The imagery of the lyrics portrays a sense of detachment and disillusionment with life in general. The opening line, "Dust from a dim southern star", sets the scene for the listener to imagine a distant and far-off place, perhaps somewhere in the desert Southwest, where the singer is looking up at the stars and pondering the mysteries of life.
As the song progresses, the singer begins to reflect on their own life and their own sense of isolation and loneliness. They are struggling to make sense of the world around them and looking for meaning in their own existence. They see the passing of time as a slow decay, where days "burn up like weed" and nothing ever changes. Despite this feeling of stagnation, the singer still holds on to hope, wishing for the person they desire to be with them always.
The song "Serenade" is a beautiful and haunting reflection on the human condition, filled with rich and evocative imagery. It speaks to the universal human experiences of longing, loss, and hope, and reminds us that no matter how alone we may feel, we are all connected by the same powerful emotions.
