The song "Drittgeschlecht" by Erblast speaks about the concept of gender and religious beliefs. The first line "Im Glashaus sitzt der Glaube" translates to "faith sits in the glasshouse". Here, faith is metaphorically portrayed as fragile and vulnerable, like it is being protected in a glasshouse. The lyrics go on to say that faith constantly fights against evil and sinful people, who are constantly observing it. The use of the word "Watte" (cotton wool), in the second line, further highlights the fragility of faith.

Next, the lyrics mention the contrasting characteristics of faith and how it can be seen in different forms - honourable or dishonourable, truthful or asexual. The line "Wer Gottes Silbennamen kennt / Kann sich selbst zum Gott erheben" (whoever knows God's syllable names can elevate themselves to God) suggests that knowledge is power and that even a human can attain godliness. The song then raises questions on gender by asking if angels are male or female, or if there exists a third gender, a "Drittgeschlecht". The concept of an "Hermaphrodite, in sich selbst verliebt" (hermaphrodite, in love with himself) reinforces the idea of an alternative gender.
