Tu me diras
Eric Cantona Lyrics

Le soleil noir
La beauté des cimes
Le grand espoir
Au large l′appel
En altitude
Planent les aigles
Les solitudes
Tes silences
Et je t'attendrai
Je t′attendrai
Écouter le souffle
Histoire en passe
Rien ne s'essouffle
Les grands espaces
Résonnent les sons
Et sous nos pas
Au cœur au fond
Les mots de toi
Tu me diras
Tes silences
Et je t'attendrai
Je t′attendrai
Tu me diras
Tes silences
Et je t′attendrai
Je t'attendrai
Sortent les arcs en ciel
Éphémères
Les passerelles
Et laissons faire
Les traversées
Les faces piles
Les enjambées
Ah si fragile
Tu me diras
Tes silences
Et je t′attendrai
Je t'attendrai
Tu me diras
Tes silences
Et je t′attendrai
Je t'attendrai
The lyrics of Eric Cantona's song "Tu me diras" convey a sense of introspection, nature, and hope. The first verse speaks about the shadows taking shape, the dark sun, the beauty of the mountaintops, and the great hope that lies within. It also mentions the call from afar and the eagles soaring in solitude, suggesting a longing for freedom and exploration. The chorus repeats the phrase "Tu me diras" which means "You will tell me," emphasizing the anticipation of hearing the other person's silences, implying a deep connection between the singer and the listener. The singer expresses their willingness to wait, indicating patience and understanding.
The second verse mentions listening to the breath, emphasizing the passing nature of time and the continuation of a story. It suggests that nothing exhausts itself and that the vastness of open spaces can resonate with sounds. It implies that even in the vastness, the words that come from the heart can still be heard, highlighting the significance of personal expression. The chorus is repeated again, emphasizing the theme of waiting and longing for the other person's communication.
The final verse introduces rainbows as fleeting, bridges as passive, and urges a surrender to the natural course of events. It speaks of crossings, balancing actions, and fragility. This verse suggests acceptance of impermanence and a willingness to let go, while still emphasizing the importance of maintaining communication through silence. The chorus is repeated once more, emphasizing the longing to hear the other person's silences and the willingness to wait.
Overall, the song "Tu me diras" reflects a desire for connection, understanding, and patience in a relationship. It explores themes of nature, solitude, and the significance of unspoken communication.
