Ground Control
Escape With Romeo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
From the milky ways above
Drink with the seas, and the stars
Gather the universe of love
Floating in my capsule
In a beautiful aware
Calling ground control
Is there anybody there?
Through the eyes of a aurora
And the million northern lights
Flying through the orbits
Passing countless satellites
Floating in my capsule
In a beautiful aware
Calling ground control
Is there anybody there?
Floating in my capsule
In a beautiful aware
Calling ground control
Is there anybody there?
Ground control, ground control
Ground control, ground control
Ground control, ground control
Ground control, ground control.
Escape With Romeo's song "Ground Control" is a mesmerizing journey through space, as the lyrics paint a picture of someone floating in their capsule, asking if there's anyone out there listening. The song sets a dreamy tone from the beginning, with the mention of receiving a message "from the sky land" and the "milky ways above." The next line, "drink with the seas and the stars, gather the universe of love," speaks to a sense of unity and interconnectedness between all things in the cosmos. It's as though whoever is in the capsule is experiencing a profound shift in perception, a feeling of being a small part of something much greater.
The chorus, "calling ground control, is there anybody there?" is a haunting plea for connection. Although the song doesn't reveal why this person is floating in space, it's clear that they're searching for something, perhaps a sense of purpose, meaning, or simply human contact. The imagery of the aurora and the northern lights adds to the magical quality of the song, with the person in the capsule passing "countless satellites."
Overall, "Ground Control" is a beautiful meditation on the vastness of the universe, the interconnectedness of all things, and the longing for connection despite it all. It captures a sense of wonder and awe that is often associated with space exploration, and invites the listener to feel a part of that journey.
