Crash
Esthero Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Crashed down on the floor
Hold your breath and fall apart
You made a simple mistake
And now you're praying for a better heart

Some of us make our own beds
We can't afford to lay in them
Remember I always have said
You should leave me alone

'Cause I don't wanna crash, now I'm afraid
That I'm going nowhere way too fast
And I can't hear what you say
I'm in a conversation with my past

And maybe you wasn't the brave
So much the praising what it got me through
And somehow the path that I've paved
Just keeps leading me to you

But I don't wanna crash now
Don't wanna crash now

I shouldn't ever be afraid to lay you down
I just wanna hold you in my arms again
If only for a moment I could have you here
Lady, I would never let you go

'Cause I don't wanna crash now
I don't wanna crash now

Come on in the sun
When you're scared, can face it down
'Cause here I am, you will not be alone

Keep facing the sun
You'll reach it one day
Blame it on the back
'Til you can watch with me
And you mean to be free

And when the sun goes down
There's still tomorrow
Don't you be afraid
To let your sorrow breathe
Your strength is all you need

Did you ever know you were the one?
'Cause I can hardly even tell

Overall Meaning

The song "Crash" by Esthero is a powerful ballad about the fear of failure and the desire to hold onto someone despite the risks involved. The first verse speaks of a moment of weakness where the singer has "crashed down on the floor" and feels like they're falling apart. They made a mistake and are now hoping for a better heart. The chorus expresses a fear of crashing again, of going nowhere too fast, and being stuck in a conversation with ghosts from the past. The second verse talks about the singer's reluctance to let go of someone who might be bad for them, someone who they feel keeps leading them back to them, even though they don't want to crash again. The bridge encourages the listener to face their fears and keep moving towards the sun, not to be afraid of tomorrow or to let their sorrow breathe.

The lyrics are rich with emotion and vulnerability, and Esthero's vocals are stunning as she conveys the uncertainty and longing in the song. One possible interpretation of the song is that it is about the difficulty of leaving a toxic relationship or emotional pattern, even when you know it's not good for you. The singer is torn between the desire for safety and comfort and the fear of getting hurt again. The song could also be interpreted as a more general message about the importance of facing your fears and moving forward, even when it's scary.

Here are the real lyrics:

Crash down on the floor, hold your breath and fall apart.
You made a simple mistake and now you're paying for it with your heart.
Some of us make our own beds but we can't afford to lay in them
Remember I always have said you should leave me alone
Cause I don't wanna crash now I'm afraid that I'm going nowhere way too fast
And I can't hear what you say, I'm in a conversation with my past
Well maybe I wasn't that brave so much as brazen but it got me through
And somehow the path that I pave just keeps leading me to you.... But I don't wanna crash now.

Shoulda never been afraid to lay you down
I just wanna hold you in my arms again
If only for a moment I could have you here
Lady, I would never let you go
But I don't wanna crash now, no way

Come on in the sun, when you're scared then face it down.
Cause here I am in your love, in your love.

Keep facing the sun you'll reach it one day
Baby don't look back til you get what you need
And you need to be free

Here's a tip for those who hear songs on Shows and want to know what they are.

This is just what I do though it's nowhere near the best way.

1st Way) Search [Series Name] OST, it's good if you know the season it'll probably make it easier for you.  If you've got some sort of service the 'Info' button will likely tell you all of this info.

2nd Way) Listen to a chunk of the lyrics(it's not always the chorus that plays.) and write it or type it memorize it.  Google [Written/Typed Lyrics] Lyrics, and you'll likely get results that have the song you're looking for.

If it's an instrumental...the 1st way will probably suit you better, if not...I can't help lol.
