Sabor a Mí

Nuestras almas se acercaron tanto así
Que yo guardo tu sabor
Pero tú llevas también
Sabor a mí
Si negaras mi presencia en tu vivir
Bastaría con abrazarte y conversar
Tanta vida yo te di
Sabor a mí
No pretendo
Ser tu dueña
No soy nada, yo no tengo vanidad
De mi vida, doy lo bueno
Soy tan pobre, que otra cosa puedo dar
Pasarán más de mil años, muchos más
Yo no sé si tenga amor la eternidad
Pero allá, tal como aquí
En tu boca llevarás
Sabor a mí
No pretendo
Ser tu dueña
No soy nada, yo no tengo vanidad
De mi vida, doy lo bueno
Soy tan pobre, que otra cosa puedo dar
Pasarán más de mil años, muchos más
Yo no sé si tenga amor la eternidad
Pero allá, tal como aquí
En tu boca llevarás
Sabor a mí
The lyrics of Eva Ayllón's song "Sabor a Mí" express a deep sense of love and connection between two individuals who have shared a significant amount of time together. The imagery of souls coming together suggests a spiritual connection that goes beyond the physical realm.
The repetition of the phrase "Sabor a mí" throughout the song underscores the idea of leaving a lasting impression on each other. The singer reflects on how she carries the other person's essence within her, symbolized by their unique "sabor" or taste. This suggests that their love has become intertwined and inseparable, leaving an indelible mark on each other's lives.
The lyrics also touch upon themes of selflessness and humility in love. The singer acknowledges that she does not seek to possess the other person or have any sense of pride or vanity. Instead, she offers the best of herself despite her perceived shortcomings and poverty. This message conveys a deep sense of sincerity and vulnerability in expressing love without expectations or demands.
The closing lines of the song evoke a sense of timelessness and eternal love. The singer muses on the passage of time, contemplating whether love can transcend beyond a thousand years or even into eternity. Despite the uncertainties of the future, the presence of their love is promised to endure, both in the physical world and beyond. The repeated declaration of "En tu boca llevarás Sabor a mí" reinforces the idea that their love will continue to linger and resonate in each other's lives. Overall, the lyrics of "Sabor a Mí" speak to the enduring power of love, the deep connection between two individuals, and the lasting impact that love leaves on the soul.
