The song "Pause" by Féfé is a reflection of the racial tensions and discrimination that exist in France. In the first verse, Féfé is in a hurry to get to the studio, and the taxi driver is a black man who is racist towards Malek and Rachid, two Arab names that the driver seems to associate with negative traits. The driver makes offensive remarks about Arabs and suggests that without them, France would be a more peaceful place. Féfé responds by telling the driver to pause and criticizing his attitude and racist views. He tells him to get with the times and adapt, or risk getting left behind.
In the second verse, Féfé gets into another cab, this time driven by an elderly Arab man. The driver makes derogatory remarks about gay people and Jews and suggests that they should be locked up. Féfé, once again, responds with a call to pause and reflect on the harm caused by such attitudes. He urges the driver to let go of his prejudices and choose a path of acceptance and understanding.
In the third verse, Féfé sings about his frustration with people who hold extreme views and espouse hate speech. He argues that all people, regardless of race or ethnicity, deserve respect and equal treatment. The song concludes with Féfé lamenting the lack of progress in France and the prevalence of ignorant attitudes.
