TRAIN
F.T Island Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A thousand miles away from home sleeping in the rain
I walked up to a brakeman gave him a line of talk
He said if you've got money boy I'll see that you don't walk
I haven't got a nickel not a penny can I show
Get off get off you railroad bum and he slammed the boxcar door
He put me off in Texas a state I dearly love
Nobody seems to want me or to lend me a helping hand
I'm on my way from Frisco going back to Dixie Land
Though my pocketbook is empty and my heart is full of pain
I'm a thousand miles away from home just a waiting for a train
The song "Train" by F.T Island talks about a man who is waiting for a train at a water tank station. The person is a thousand miles away from home and is sleeping in the rain. The main character approaches a brakeman and tries to persuade him to let him on the train. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any money to pay for the ride, and the brakeman tells him to get off. The song also mentions his life in Texas, where he feels extremely lonely, with no one to lend him a helping hand. Though he is a thousand miles away from home, he is eagerly waiting for the train to take him back to Dixie Land.
