Faith Assembly has produced a number of albums and several singles, their most famous within the underground synthpop scene probably being Shades of Blue and Red Ambition. Faith Assembly's songs often feature on A Different Drum compilations and taster CDs.
Style
Using the classic 80's synthpop sound in the early albums such as Shades of Blue and The Diary of Winter, Stacy makes use of guitars, retro synths, samples from old films and female vocals to produce a sound not unlike 80s groups ABC, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Simple Minds.

Just to remember
Only to forget everything
Some say
The lies make us remember
Malicious Tales
Are all that you know
Here we are singing
(Surrender your mind, to the sky)
The same old song
(Let the healing forces in)
The lies you're believing
(Remember inside, you're alive)
Could go insane
(With the healing forces)
One feels the cold
That spells December
Only to let go of what I mean
I can feel the pain that you remember
Someone said better watch what you say
First the shot
(One tries to realize the pain I feel in you)
Then the fall
(one tries to realize the pain I feel in you)
Hurt a lot
(One tries to realize the pain I feel in you)
Should I crawl
The opening lines of this song by Faith Assembly are about the struggle to hold onto important memories and experiences. The sentiment is that despite all of our efforts, we still forget the meaningful things in life. The subsequent lines suggest that lies and deceit may be responsible for this forgetfulness, and that we are trapped in a cycle of believing in malicious tales. The chorus of the song seems to offer a solution to this problem, urging the listener to surrender their mind to the healing and transformative power of the sky.
The second verse continues with the theme of pain and loss, referencing the cold of December and the difficulty of letting go of meaningful things. The line "Someone said better watch what you say" suggests that the pain we feel is a result of the hurtful things others say to us. The following lines, "First the shot, then the fall, hurt a lot, should I crawl" can be interpreted as a metaphor for the ways in which we experience pain and then have to navigate the aftermath. The question posed at the end of the verse is whether or not it's possible to pick ourselves up and keep going.
Overall, this song seems to be about the interconnectedness of memory, pain, and growth. The lyrics suggest that we are responsible for our own healing, and that surrendering to a higher power can help us remember what is truly important in life.

Amazing how great songs like this somehow eluded me for so long and only recently surfaced to my awareness due to Apple Music streaming suggestions. Almost every day I find another song I've never heard from this era (mixed in the very well known) this way. Glad to have found this tune. Whatever happened with this band? Love the album imagery.
