A thousand miles away from home, waiting for a train
[Chorus:]
Nobody seems to want me or give me a helping hand
I nevermore will roam again if I ever get home again
[Chorus]
Fats Domino's song "Helping Hand" describes the struggle of being far away from home and feeling helpless in a difficult situation. The lyrics of the song convey a sense of loneliness and desperation, as the singer finds himself a thousand miles away from home, sleeping in the rain and waiting for a train. He feels unwanted and abandoned, as nobody seems to be willing to lend him a helping hand.
The chorus of the song repeats the sentiment of being rejected and forgotten by others, but also expresses a glimmer of hope for a reunion with home. The singer declares that if he ever makes it back home, he will never leave again. The lyrics of "Helping Hand" encapsulate the struggles of many people who are forced to leave their homes and dreams behind for a chance at a better life, only to find themselves facing hardship and isolation.
