Think
Felix Hernandez Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free

Let's go back, let's go back, let's go way on back when
I didn't even know you, you couldn't too much more than ten
I ain't no psychiatrist, I ain't no doctor with degrees
It don't take too much high IQ's to see what you're doing to me
You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think) let your mind go, let yourself be free

Oh freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, yeah freedom
Freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, ooh freedom

Think about it, think about it

There ain't nothing you could ask I could answer you but I won't (I won't)
I was gonna change, but I'm not, to keep doing things I don't

You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free

People walking around everyday, playing games taking score
Trying to make other people lose their minds, ah, be careful you don't lose yours

You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free

You need me (need me) and I need you (don't you know)
Without each other there ain't nothing people can do

Think about it baby

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Felix Hernandez's song, "Think" are a plea for self-reflection and emotional liberation. The first verse urges the listener to consider the impact of their actions on the singer. The repetition of "think" emphasizes the importance of making deliberate choices and highlights how each decision affects others. The second verse takes a reflective turn, with the singer looking back to a time before they knew their current partner. The vivid description of how little the partner could do suggests that the singer may have been drawn in by illusions or manipulations. However, the singer's tone is not accusatory or angry; instead, they simply state that it does not take a great deal of intelligence to see what is happening.

The chorus is a call for the listener to let go of their inhibitions and allow themselves to think and feel freely. The repetition of "freedom" is significant, as it underscores the core message of the song that by considering one's own thoughts and feelings, one can liberate themselves from the negative pressures of others. The final verse is a warning against the dangers of trying to control or manipulate others. The singer urges the listener not to fall into the trap of playing games with the emotions of others, lest they lose their own sense of self in the process.

Overall, "Think" is a timeless song that urges listeners to take control of their own emotions and decisions. It encourages self-examination and emphasizes the importance of not allowing others to manipulate or control one's thoughts and feelings.

We have Chris Jericho to thank for that line.

lordofice72 Actually, first time I heard that used was by Gino Hernandez in the early 80s.

@Josh Keller I stand corrected. Side note Geno would have been one of the greatest wrestlers of all time had he not tragically passed away.

@swavyypressure9417

@Andrew Muller late reply but I agree. Gino would of been (in my opinion) the best Heel of the 80s. Sadly his demons and outside influences killed him in the end.

The Degrom "Has not murdered a teammate this season" graphic cracked me up for a solid 30 seconds, absolutely hilarious.
