Fishbone first assembled with John Norwood Fisher (bass), his brother Philip "Fish" Fisher (drums), Angelo Moore (vocals, saxophones and theremin), Kendall Jones (guitar), "Dirty" Walter A. Kibby II (vocals, trumpet), and Christopher Dowd (keyboards, trombone, vocals). They achieved their greatest success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, after which they went through many personnel changes. From 2003 to 2010, John Norwood Fisher and Angelo Moore were the last remaining original members of the band. In the 2010s, all the other original members except Kendall Jones rejoined the band for various reunions and anniversary activities.
Everyday Sunshine
Fishbone Lyrics

Take me to another place in my mind
Where everything is beautiful
And no wants or needs
Nor sign of greed
Could rule our soul
How I wish everyday sunshine
If we could fly away on wings
To a place where all could be true
And the skies were blue
And love was true
And me and you
How I wish everyday sunshine
How I wish everyday sunshine
Fishbone's song "Everyday Sunshine" is an upbeat and funky tune with a strong message. The lyrics begin with a wish for every day to be sunny, not just literally but metaphorically as well. The sun represents positivity, happiness, and hopefulness. The singer desires to escape to another place in their mind where everything is beautiful and free of the negative influence of greed. The message is that if we could let go of our materialistic desires and be content with what we have, we would find a true sense of inner peace.
The second verse continues with the same sentiment. The desire to escape to a place where everything is true, where the skies are blue and love is genuine, represents a longing for a world that is free from deceit, hate, and negativity. The singer hopes that they can fly away on wings with someone they love and find a better reality. The song ultimately conveys a message of hopefulness and positivity. It encourages us to focus on the good and to strive for a better tomorrow.

I saw these guys live in 1991 and it was easily the greatest show I've ever seen. Primus opened. Small theater, no seats, just a giant mosh pit going off for three hours straight. Fishbone in their prime were like a freight train live, unbelievable energy. Angelo Moore came out and sang a heart-wrenching a capella song at the end, which is simply incredible seeing as he had been absolutely manic for two hours. Life changing stuff, 18 years ago and it seems like yesterday.
