Decisiones Apresuradas
Fito Páez Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Cocaína
Alguien decide por el país
No me culpen,
Y no entiendo, yo aquí no entiendo nada...

Norberto campos interpreta al general alcoholtieri:
-"yo quiero decirles
Que no cederemos un sólo metro
De las tierras (...) conquistadas.
Y yo, pretendo, representarlos,

Overall Meaning

The song "Decisiones Apresuradas" by Fito Paez is a powerful critique of the hasty decision-making that takes place in times of war or political crisis. The lyrics speak of cocaine use by those in power, and the consequences of their actions, including the loss of life and the devastation of an entire generation. At the same time, the lyrics express a sense of anger and confusion at the way in which decisions are made, with little regard for the human cost.

The song opens with the line "Cocaine, someone decides for the country," which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics. The singer, who clearly feels disconnected from those in power, declares "Don't blame me, I'm not willing to die on a crucifix." He goes on to criticize the war-like mentality of those in positions of authority, stating that "a war is not a business or an illusion, a war is blood."

The lyrics also refer to the fact that those who make the decisions are often removed from the reality of the situation. They "come and go to the bathroom" and make hurried decisions without fully understanding the implications. The song ends with the singer expressing his frustration and confusion, declaring "I don't understand anything here."

Overall, "Decisiones Apresuradas" is a powerful and thought-provoking commentary on the costs of war and the way in which decisions are made by those in power.
