Maybe because Kiss is a pure mainstream rock band. Other artists and professionals notice that. They have good songs, classics and some hits - "I was born for loving you" here in Germany and elsewhere in Europe at least 1-2 a week on the radio (royalties). But they lived mainly from the stage show and the fireworks. These days, they would not be nearly as successful. At that time it was something new and unique. In addition, Chaim Simmons has managed to turn it into a brand. I think Gene Simmons was all about money and women and Stanley about money and artistic development but not at any price. The only one who was really rock star was Ace Frehley

It's a little surreal going back and listening to this music because I know these voices; they're a theatrical group of guys, they appear in sketches about themselves and voice themselves in cartoons, and then it's like, "oh, yeah, they sing." Travis Steele hell he deserves credit for keeping his talent with age. Have you HEARD most of these hair bands rerecording their hits? They sound terrible vocally. Stanley though, sounds largely the same as back then. It's truly amazing

he always looked very comfortable without makeup while Gene always seemed to "hiding"- behind his bass, standing next to another or by sticking his tongue out--always trying to be distracting from his actual appearance.. Just all IMO though...

My first celebrity crush was Peter Criss at the age of 4. My dad had the biggest Kiss phase as a teen, and he passed it onto mini me. I walked into kindergarten dressed as Paul for Halloween. I remember me in my little Kiss shirt watching the Kiss movies with my dad. Good old times

I was a huge Kiss fan. If you remember at that time, MTV would air full concerts on Friday nights. I had patiently waited all week to stay up late on Friday night to watch it. I was 13 years old and during the 2nd song, my mom passed through the room and heard Paul Stanley say the word "damn". She made me turn it off. Considering the language in songs now, it sure shows the difference 30 years make. Nobody would even blink about someone saying "damn" now.

Ryan Lipinski This song ('Heaven's On Fire') is my favorite KISS song, too. My 2nd & 3rd favorites would have to be 'Reason To Live' and 'Tears Are Falling'. As for 'I Wanna Rock And Roll All Night', our local radio stations seem to only play that song, & to be perfectly honest, I'm sick of hearing it, lol. 'Being overplayed' is an understatement.

Eric is the best drummer they ever had imo, and it's a shame Mark only played on this one album, but DAMNNN he's sooo good and Animalize reflects what a gifted player he was. I'm 54 and just realized in this moment what 'heaven' is. This reminds me of gym class in the 80s where we had to exercise to 'Let's Get Physical' (Olivia Newton John) and 'Everyone Bites the Dust' (who the frog 'bites dust'?) songs and likely most of us took the song titles literally. He married twice , has 4 kids and lives happily with his wife 15+ years, just because he had his own way of dancing and hand movements doesn't make him gay. Not all males are masculine and manly. Even tho he looks pretty good and has a nice face for 80's life style. Things were different back then ,people were different. So he doesnt have to admmit anything, he already said that he is not gay many times. Just because you see his performance less manly doesnt mean he is gay.
