Start Over
Flame Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everybody's got a blank page
A story they're writing today
A wall that they're climbing
You can carry the past on your shoulders
Or you could start over regrets
No matter what you've gone through Jesus
He gave it all to save you
He carried the cross on His shoulders
So you could start over

Don't let your heart be troubled
Don't be afraid
To the broken hearted
That wished that they'd
Never been born, never been torn
Never sinned, never disobeyed
I know you think there's no hope (no)
But that ain't true (Jesus saves)
I know you feeling regret (like I)
Brought this all on myself (like I)
Messed it up big time and this time I don't deserve God's help (thinking)
How can God forgive me after knowing what I did (can He)
After knowing that I hid from Him and I stayed away and backslid (listen)
Jesus came for the sick (so true)
Jesus came for the weak (Amen)
Jesus came to give good news and have set the captives free (Amen, listen)
Jesus came for the poor (Amen)
Jesus came with the keys (Amen)
Jesus came to remove the chains so the prisoners are released (Amen)

Everybody's got a blank page
A story they're writing today
A wall that they're climbing
You can carry the past on your shoulders
Or you could start over regrets
No matter what you've gone through Jesus
He gave it all to save you
He carried the cross on His shoulders
So you could start over

See His love is deeper than the ocean floor
Run to His arms like an open door
God the Father sent the Son
So men can come and be free and ain't gotta run no more (that's what He said)
Come to me all who are weary
With heavy burdens, I'll give you rest
Separated you from your sin
As far as the east is from the west (He said)
Thrown in the sea of forgetfulness
What sin, what offense
And when them waves come crashing in
I'll calm the winds in your defense (that's what He said)
So whatever it is that you've done
He put that punishment on His Son (His Son)
You'll never come under His condemnation conquer sin and Satan and his accusations
So dry your eyes, lift up your head
Hallelujah, God is not dead (Amen)
Plus He gave us His peace (His peace)
And He took our guilt on the cross instead
Took our place and now we embrace
A clean slate with the eyes of faith
We know unfailing love
Unfailing love it's not too late to start over

Everybody's got a blank page

I'm compelled to tell everyone that you must repent of your sinful nature and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. I'll explain how: acknowledging how horrible you have been in God's eyes then have faith in God with a willingness to lay your life down for God so follow through with good works (serve in LOVE) to show God how much you want to change. Seek God with everything knowing you will die and yet live with Faith in God. Then repentance may be granted to you that being the free gift of God (Holy Spirit). You will be persecuted and yet live, you will suffer tremendously and may even wish for death but endure it!! You will be witnesses to the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you free from the law of sin and death.

It's extremely difficult because it's not our own doing it's the gift of God, so that none may boast!!! Why lie to yourself and think you're saved if you are unwilling to become a living sacrifice that is acceptable in God's eyes?

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

@NewLifeThroughChrist

Christianity is like the truth because it is.
I cant be perfectly holy
You can't be perfectly holy
God calls His people To be holy as He is holy.
Remember He is holy holy holy (Isaiah)
So how can we enter His presence?
How can we be perfected and saved?
How can we enter into eternal rest with the one true and living God who is Holy and calls his people to be as he is?

None of us can achieve this. We must have that salvation and forgiveness given to us. This is the gift God has gave in His son. Immanuel came and lived among us and gave that life upon the cross. He was lifted up and paid the price of death that you and I deserve. He rose from the grave so that you and I can believe in Him who overcame the grave so that we may be risen in new life in Him. Jesus is the only way unto true salvation and freedom from sin and the wrath to come.

25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

New International Version

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Hallelujah to the Lamb!!!!!!

20 remember this: Anyone who brings a sinner back from the wrong way will save that person from eternal death and cause many sins to be forgiven.

Romans 2:28-29 NLT

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

Look out for the dogs, look out for
the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—

Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

Acts 15:12-21
New International Version

12 The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them. 13 When they finished, James spoke up. “Brothers,” he said, “listen to me. 14 Simon has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles. 15 The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

16 “‘After this I will return
    and rebuild David’s fallen tent.
Its ruins I will rebuild,
    and I will restore it,
17 that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
even all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things’—
18     things known from long ago.
19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21 For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

Romans 12:14-21 NIV

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
