i love that the movements from the OA are in this song. the OA was a really powerful story, i think it helped alot of people in a lot of different ways. it’s disappointing they stopped producing the show considering how well it was going for netflix and the producers. and it clearly had a beautiful impact, maybe that’s why they stopped producing it.

I just got turned on to F+TM and one of the first things I appreciated was the diversity of the dancers. After the lyrics and the music, but probably before the exquisitely surreal nature of the choreography and scenery. I am a vanilla gal from California so might not have normally paid attention to diversity but I married a Middle Eastern man and we adopted a baby from India so, yeah, I notice and deeply appreciate diversity now.

As someone who never had to sober up because my constitution mercifully (or not) prevents me from enjoying the ‘fun’ parts of alcohol (I’m basically intolerant to it so I only get a flush and a headache which leads to throwing up and then back to normal, no reckless, confidence-boosting episodes, but also no comedowns or withdrawals or cravings) and also I have kept away from all the ‘addictive’ substances (they just never had any draw for me, despite being in the arts) , I often wonder if my sense of fantasy, fed only by my imagination, pales in comparison to those who have seen hallucinations and felt euphoria. So many talented people have had the demons of drink and drugs on their back all the time, some have succumbed mortally to it.

Florence’s music has, I feel, taken on a far darker, more confessional tone ever since her sobriety, which I find interesting. Her lyrics have become a lot more ambiguous now; I don’t know in ‘King’ if it is an affirmation of power, or an admission of guilt and weakness. Here, I am trying to figure out if her music brings her solace or torment.

Story time: I was sitting down watching this on a repeating loop (because 2 minutes isn’t long enough and it makes me slightly feel like a bitter woman who was choked that she only got 2 minutes of s** from a man) when suddenly my girlfriend comes into the room trying to get my attention. It took her 5 minutes to finally get my attention and when she did, I simply glanced over at her for a quick second before watching the video again and I said, “no offence but I love Florence more than you right now.” And I heard her say, “okay that’s cool. Just don’t cheat on me with her.” Only then did I put my phone down. I saw Florence live in a music festival here in my country and it was one of the most transcendental experiences of my life. Everyone was absolutely enchanted, it felt like we were all collectively praying, or worshipping a very old deity. She has a beautiful way of making you feel connected to something bigger than you, and the music was bigger than all of us. It was like the music itself was enchanted. She's become my absolute favourite since. So powerful, even in a festival concert, where you have so many different audiences. And she won every one of us over. @Playful Stuff thank God somebody does. We’re just already so tired of all the sanctions, we are almost left in full isolation and many people still think it’s not enough. Most of the sanctions actually doesn’t concern the people who deserve them, who actually ‘make decisions’. These are ordinary people who reap what the authorities sow. I know it’s nothing compared to what’s happening in Ukraine, but still it hurts.

This is so intense! It took me a couple viewings to realize what it reminds me of - it's almost like a haka (the traditional Maori war dance/chant). Not saying this is any kind of cultural appropriation at all, but it has that same fierce energy. I love it

The witch vibes are intense... love it!
The raspberry colour of their knickers are haunting me and I'm seeking the colour out. Like a bright flash of a parrot's wing in an all silver jungle... how does that fit in with the witch vibe? I have been excited for the moment Florence would take the spoken word plunge - which I always felt she wanted to but perhaps wasn’t ready until now. My daughter is ten. Flo and her crew are very deep. I love and adore her music I let my daught watch the lighter songs and show her what real artists are and how they work with their lives and videos. She adores her although I probably wouldn't take her to one of their shows. But I'm thinking I probably could she love the music.I like her to know what a real artist with ability and the fact to me that she seems so down to earth. I want my daughter looking up to a real person. Someone with a good heart and soul Flo and crew your that!! my girl and I love you.
