2) Flower is a post-punk noise/pop band from NYC that existed from 1986-1990 featuring later members of Versus (Richard Baluyut, Ed Baluyut), French (Ian James, Andrew Bordwin), Cell (Ian James), The Pacific Ocean (Ed Baluyut), and Ruby Falls (Andrew Bordwin). Featuring the Baluyut brothers on guitar, James on bass, and Bordwin on drums, Flower was a staple of the NYC underground scene carved out by Sonic Youth, Live Skull, Swans, etc, utilizing the noise element of the aforementioned artists to deepen the textures of more classically oriented pop songs. Flower reunited for The Big Takeover anniversary shows in the summer of 2010 and again in July 2014 and are currently working on a new album, and have returned to performing live regularly as of 2017.

The lyrics of Flowers' song "Clover" convey the feelings of a young girl experiencing her first love. She watches the contrails from an airplane through the classroom window and wants to tell the person she loves about it. From the beginning of the new school term, she finds herself constantly thinking about this person and even chasing after them. It is a sudden and overwhelming feeling of first love, and she cannot resist its allure. When summer beckons, she cannot contain her excitement, running to the rooftop to shout her love.
As the song progresses, the girl reveals that even when she is with friends, her heart cannot stay focused on anything else but the person she loves. It becomes tiresome and painful, but she cannot help but collect these feelings of longing and affection. She admits to loving this person, but she does not want anyone else to know about it. Each secret and each flutter of her heart for this person adds more excitement and more hidden emotions. Summer becomes a blindfold for her because in her world, there is only this person. The wind blows, and she feels like crying because she wants to see and be with this person. She longs for their presence and is willing to show them a secret place where they can go together, hoping to find a four-leaf clover.
