With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Orchidfire
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tears fall tomorrow, in autumn sun brigade
Fear...
Pain...
And the ever falling rain
Pray for the dawn when the colors start to fade
Still...
Yearn for the everlasting flame
Turn to me,
Bless the sun,
All of this is sane.
Turn from me,
Start to run,
None of this is saved.
Life for the promise all fortune come today
Graceful we wander through a life of grey
Remember when the orchids dream
Try to save the blood that's falling from you
Will you be there in war and grief?
And try to speak the word of God?
Swear no remorse for the ones who lost their fate
Symbols of horror in handsome masquerade
Still...
No mortal soul to resignate
Wake from the coma you've chosen to create
Pay for your solace
And a life in vain
Still, call my name,
Drown your heart,
The orchid sky is dead.
Take my blame,
Fall apart in tides of no regret.
Kill the pain,
Hide the scars,
The orchids die now.
The lyrics of "Orchidfire" by Flowing Tears are full of complex emotions and cryptic messages. The tone of the song is melancholic and poetic, with a sense of desperation and longing running through the verses. The first couplet talks about the fear of living in a dream parade, where reality and fantasy blend, leading to tears falling in an army of golden leaves. The use of autumn as a metaphor for the transience of life is particularly poignant. The mood is somber, as if the singer is mourning for a future that never came to pass.
The second verse delves deeper into the human psyche, with the singer praying for the dawn when the colors start to fade, a sign of hope after a long night of darkness. There is a religious overtone to this verse, as the singer swears by their God, seeking solace and redemption in a world marred by pain and uncertainty. The imagery of the everlasting flame is both comforting and eerie, as if the singer is seeking immortality in a mortal world.
The chorus is a mix of conflicting emotions, as the singer implores the listener to "turn to me" and "bless the sun", while acknowledging the futility of such actions. The line "None of this is saved" brings a sense of hopelessness and despair to the song, as if the singer is aware of the inevitability of death and the impermanence of life.
Overall, "Orchidfire" is a haunting song that touches on themes of mortality, hope, and faith. Its cryptic lyrics and somber tone create a sense of unease in the listener, as if they are witnessing a profound moment of human vulnerability and introspection.
