With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Souls of the Neon Reign
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're in the eye of the storm.
Pray, for the world descends,
And the serpents are born.
And we thought Jesus felt regret...
Break down, my friend,
Awake when Morpheus calls.
To tear the white off the walls.
Now let's pretend the world is dead,
And Judas better stayed in bed...
And when the night calls,
We're all the same,
Drown our souls in neon rain!
And when the night comes,
Relieve the pain,
Drown us all in neon reign!
Welcome, my friend,
The burning bridges are torn.
The ashes of firmaments,
Will pour down at dawn.
And then the fire leads our hands,
And Judas left the promise land...
God's creation, a dead nation!
Hail sedation!
Diabolic, and robotic!
Hail narcotic!
Tell me, my friend,
Is that the price for the kill?
Some witness the earth in flames, and some never will...
Now we make nemesis undone,
And face the barrel of a gun...
The lyrics of Flowing Tears's song Souls of the Neon Reign describe a world in chaos, with serpents being born and burning bridges being torn. The singer talks to a friend, inviting them to pray as they witness the downfall of the world. They mention Jesus and Judas in the song, adding a religious undertone to the lyrics. The chorus speaks of drowning our souls and relieving pain through the neon rain, which serves as a symbol of escapism from the reality around us. The second verse continues the theme of chaos, with the ashes of firmaments pouring down at dawn, and the fire leading our hands. The lyrics also mention narcotic, sedation, and nemesis, further emphasizing the sense of despair and destruction surrounding the narrative.
Overall, the song speaks of a world falling apart, with people looking for a way to escape the pain and chaos around them. It touches on themes of religion, escapism, and the destruction of society.
