With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Flowing Tears Lyrics

A tale of fortune traders
They came from far beyond the waves
The other night they spoke the curse
And put their masquerade on
Beware the eyes that cross the sane
Down below the trail is where they walk
And now we leave this road again
Take me back
Back on the trail again
Take me back
To pray for love and practice hate
Is what the silence taught us
We went too far and far too late
If there were a thousand years to waste
Today the clock stopped ticking
Goddamn the hours spent in vain
Will they die with me?
Servants of the dread is what they are
And now they take control again
Take me back
Back on the trail again
Take me back
The song "Virago" by Flowing Tears speaks about the arrival of fortune traders who came from far beyond the waves. The dawn represents a new beginning or a fresh start and it becomes a storyteller. The first verse explains how the fortune traders arrive to spread their curses and masquerade. The phrase "beware the eyes that cross the sane" suggests that their intentions are not pure and it is necessary to be cautious.
In the following verse, the song talks about how the people have been taught to pray for love and practice hate. This could refer to the confusion and duplicity that exists in society. Despite knowing that they have gone too far and too late, they continue to waste time. The clock stopping, represents the end of something which ultimately leads to regrets.
The refrain "Take me back, back on the trail again" hints that the singer wants to go back to some point in the past, maybe to make amends or set things right. The last verse mentions a group of people who are servants of the dead or are consumed by dread. The phrase "and now they take control again" suggests that something bad has happened, possibly due to the actions of the fortune traders mentioned at the start. Overall, the song seems to call for reflection on one's actions and decisions and warns of the consequences of being reckless.
