They released the album Suffering Of The Masses in October of 1995. They disbanded shortly after, with Ryan Clark moving on to form the band Training for Utopia. Ryan Clark is now in Demon Hunter.
2) Focal Point is an electronic project from Austin, Texas started in 2013. Producer/bassist Preston Flynn composes his music by blending samples of different styles and eras of music with live instrumentation and warm synthesis to create his own unique sound. Focal Point plays live with his bass guitar and a drummer. In the first six months since he began releasing music, Focal Point has played with Nightmares on Wax, Cash Cash, Herobust, The Floozies, and K. Theory to name a few and has played at SXSW and Wakarusa.
3) A pop-psychedelic band from England formed in the 1960s. After having met Paul McCartney who was walking his dog, this Liverpool group really thought they were going to make it, and everything seemed to go in that direction. Terry Doran from Apple loved it, resulting in 4 tracks recorded tracks for a 1968 EP. Their manager managed support gigs for Alan Price, Stevie Winwood, Chris Farlowe and The New Yardbirds (who would change their name in Led Zeppelin soonafter). They recorded more songs for Decca for their next contract but that never happened, and nothing else really happened. Even when the group continued to play until mid 1969, Deram still made no efforts of publishing anything else, so the group disbanded at the end of that year.
Deception
Focal Point Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
as I pass through your eyes of judgment,
you make speculations about my life
that what you think is real
innocent
and you still pass judgment
when you are alone,
I know just what you think and I hope the silence makes
RING
look at yourself before you look at me
don't persecute me
look at yourself before you persecute
innocent and you still pass judgment
The song "Deception" by Focal Point speaks about the judgment that we pass on others without knowing the reality of their lives. In the opening lines, the singer talks about passing through the eyes of judgment, which refers to the way people look at us and make assumptions about us without knowing the truth. The next line, "you make speculations about my life," emphasizes this point and shows how we tend to create stories about others without even having a conversation with them.
The chorus of the song is where the main message lies. The singer says that what others think is real might not be the truth, but still, they pass judgment. The use of the word "innocent" reflects how the person being judged might have done nothing wrong, yet they are still being treated unfairly. The line "look at yourself before you look at me" asks the listener to reflect on their actions and not jump to conclusions before knowing the real story. The repetition of "innocent, and you still pass judgment" emphasizes the point that we should not judge without knowing the facts.
Overall, "Deception" is a powerful song about the need to reflect on our actions and not judge others without knowing the reality of their lives. The song encourages listeners to be more compassionate and understanding towards others.
