1) Focal Point was a spirit-filled hardcore band during the mid 90's. With Robbie Imrisek - Vocals, Ryan Clark - Guitar, Danny Dinh - Guitar, Kyle Brown - Bass, and Robert Torres - Drums. They released the album Suffering Of The Masses in October of 1995. They disbanded shortly after, with Ryan Clark moving on to form the band Training for Utopia. Ryan Clark is now in Demon Hunter.
2) Focal Point is an electronic project from Austin, Texas started in 2013. Producer/bassist Preston Flynn composes his music by blending samples of different styles and eras of music with live instrumentation and warm synthesis to create his own unique sound. Focal Point plays live with his bass guitar and a drummer. In the first six months since he began releasing music, Focal Point has played with Nightmares on Wax, Cash Cash, Herobust, The Floozies, and K. Theory to name a few and has played at SXSW and Wakarusa.
3) A pop-psychedelic band from England formed in the 1960s. After having met Paul McCartney who was walking his dog, this Liverpool group really thought they were going to make it, and everything seemed to go in that direction. Terry Doran from Apple loved it, resulting in 4 tracks recorded tracks for a 1968 EP. Their manager managed support gigs for Alan Price, Stevie Winwood, Chris Farlowe and The New Yardbirds (who would change their name in Led Zeppelin soonafter). They recorded more songs for Decca for their next contract but that never happened, and nothing else really happened. Even when the group continued to play until mid 1969, Deram still made no efforts of publishing anything else, so the group disbanded at the end of that year.
Homicide
Focal Point Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
millions die every day
money hungry killers wasting life away
something must be done
action must be taken
I bleed in sympathy for the aborted and forsaken
KILLER
this is the source of my hate
and it's burning me up inside
children are tested in labs as well
what have they done to deserve this hell
my flesh wants to kill you for what you have done
but instead I'll educate you on your pathetic occupation
a beating heart, treated like a worthless piece of trash
I hate what you're doing and I won't let it last
KILLER
At the very core of Focal Point's Homicide are chilling lyrics that touch on the gruesome subject of murder and human sacrifice. The song exposes the destructive tendencies of humanity, particularly those who place a higher priority on their profit motive than human life. The first lines are particularly jarring, as the singer highlights the tragic fact that children are not just neglected, but actually sacrificed at an alarming rate. The rest of the song is an impassioned plea for justice for the marginalized and a call to arms for action against those who contribute to this evil in the world.
The song highlights a profound anger, frustration and sorrow that Focal Point feels towards the unjust and inhumane treatment that millions suffer at the hands of those in power. The lyrics evoke feelings of a world that has gone astray and is beyond repair, yet the band doesn't give up hope. They believe in taking action, educating those who see nothing wrong with their deeds, and bringing awareness to the injustices committed. Overall, the song is a stark reminder that life is precious and should be valued above monetary gain.
