The band's 2008 debut release 'Changes' caught the ears and hearts of many, making them one of the biggest acts playing metalcore with a melodic hardcore influence. Their second full length, 'Relentless', was released in 2009. Back Burner was released on May 24, 2011 through Rise Records.

Actually in all actuality, Chad was the better vocalist, but I still love FTFD all the more as I did when Changes came out. Every album has been something fresh and new and honestly like FamousJew said, when Andrew left the band, FTFD main sound left the band. Considering they still have one of the original guitarist, they could have easily keep majority of their sound like in relentless. they just became alot more melodic and lost the balls deep heavy

@MyBathoryAria And music is a very finite art. Only once in a while will you find a band that can take the same chords that every other artist has used and make it their own. Like I said, FTFD sounds different to me than any other band I've heard. Though in the long run, all of these bands sound alike, I feel like FTFD has made their own sound in the generic core scene. Or they had, back with their first two albums. Now they sound like Attack Attack! without synths.

@hellsbeast27 i think some of their older rifts sounded in the same style as for the fallen dreams. but i think there's nothing wrong. anyway whats the big deal about similarity? almost every core song has breakdowns, its just the same as every metal song has double bass and blast beats

The loss of their drummer Andrew is huge. Their guitarist Jim and he wrote all the songs from the first 2 albums and it showed in Back Burner. I like the album but I like the first 2, especially Changes, the most. Andrew is with The Ghost Inside now tho which is awesome. They will be much better with him.

@MyBathoryAria Ok. I get what you're saying. FTFD does sound different (in my own and a lot of people's opinion) though. I don't know how, but when I hear an FTFD song, I know it's them, and not some other melodic metalcore band. And I don't look at bands that try to change the music industry because let's face it, the industry's not gonna change any time soon. While there are some labels that want to bring good artists out, many are just pushing what the "cool kids" of society want to hear.

@MyBathoryAria Something tells me that you're not into hardcore, metalcore, or any heavy music. It's ok, but if anything's going to cause the death of music, it won't be For The Fallen Dreams. Music is just organized noise. When you add emotion, it becomes even stronger than something like Mary Had A Little Lamb. FTFD uses emotions like anger and hate in their music, and it actually appeals to a lot of people because they can relate to FTFD's songs.

@FamousJew Not really, it started to sound different since "Strange Faces", not complaining, i really loved that change, yeah, it's not the same without andrew's ridiculous talent & his drum-fillings, but a drummer doesn't make a whole band, we still have Jim, pretty sure he does a big effort as Andrew did.

@EAFxCADAVER i guess in the instrumental department they´re ok, but i have heard several songs by them and everything just sounds similar. i actually had this song on my mp3 player once and when i checked the lyrics they were so goddamn horrible i just removed it and they are metalcore but i guess they have a bigger post hardcore influence

Dont get me wrong i live the core sub genres of music Just lik FTFD Chelsea Grin etc. But what i meant was so many bands do the same thing Its hard to make original music that people like. Therefore a lot of it is the same. Music will always be the same, i just remember the times when a few bands would change The music industry for life and it sounded original and very creative. Not a lot of bands can do that now.
