Runnin
Fountains Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

My gal and I, we had a fight
And I'm all by myself
I guess she thinks now that she's gone
I'll lay right on the shelf
I'm gonna show her she's all wrong
No lonesome stuff for mine
I won't sit home, all alone
She'll soon find that I'm

Runnin' wild, lost control
Runnin' wild, mighty bold
Feelin' gay, reckless too
Care free mind all the time, never blue
Always goin' don't know where
Always showin', I don't care
Don't love nobody, it's not worth while
All alone, runnin' wild. Runnin' wild

When I first met that gal of mine
It seemed just like a dream
But when she tho't she had me right
She started actin' mean
Like mary led her little lamb
She led me all the time
Until the worm had to turn
That's the reason I'm

Runnin' wild, lost control
Runnin' wild, mighty bold
Feelin' gay, reckless too
Care free mind all the time, never blue
Always goin' don't know where
Always showin', I don't care
Don't love nobody, it's not worth while
All alone, runnin' wild. Runnin' wild

No gal will ever make a fool of me
No gal! I mean just what I say
I ain't the simpleton I used to be
Wonder how I got that way

Once I was full of sentiment, it's true
But now I got a cruel heart
With all that other foolishness I'm through
Gonna play the Villain part

Runnin' wild, lost control
Runnin' wild, mighty bold
Feelin' gay, reckless too
Care free mind all the time, never blue
Always goin' don't know where
Always showin', I don't care

Don't love nobody, it's not worth while
All alone, runnin' wild. Runnin' wild

Overall Meaning

The song "Runnin' Wild" by Fountains is about a man who has just had a fight with his girlfriend and is now all alone. He decides to show her that he won't be sitting at home thinking about her but instead will be out living life to the fullest. He wants to prove to her that she's wrong, that he won't be feeling sorry for himself and instead will be running wild, not caring about anything or anyone except himself.

The first verse explains how he won't be sticking around feeling sorry for himself, that he's going to go out and live his life. The second verse goes further into why he's doing this, explaining that when he first met his girlfriend, it was like a dream but she started acting mean when she thought she had him right. He doesn't want to be led around like a little lamb anymore and is taking control of his life by running wild.

The last verse reiterates that no woman could ever make a fool out of him again. He's not the simpleton he used to be and has decided to play the villain instead. He's not interested in sentimentality anymore and wants to live his life on his terms without being beholden to anyone else.

Overall, "Runnin' Wild" is a song about taking control of your own life and not letting anyone else dictate how you should feel or live. It's about the freedom of being able to live life on your own terms, even if it means being reckless and uncaring.

Phenomenal!
What does the rev limiter kick in at, your props caught air for a millisecond or two.

John Saathoff

Those props were not correct for the boat. The highest we could ever turn those were 5200 at like 114 mph. The boat got crazy there. Props on the boat now we have been 135 with a few small issues we are working out this off season.

rrod1930

Great running boat. Those blowers make music!

Dan Myers

I’ve been 75-80 MPH in boats (feels WAY faster) a couple times but never in rough water like this. Yikes.

NeverEnoughPyro40

Are you kidding me, This is definitely not rough water! Maybe a few little wakes from other boats but that’s it!

eac 123

Thats part of the Fountain legend they are incredible in rough or smooth water

Jeff D

Makes you wonder what the boat to the left of the screen has under its hood as he never passed it

Sweet. And the boat next to him is keeping up.
