"Quo-lite", perhaps, but Francis Rossi is a truly great songwriter and his talents go far beyond the Quo sound. Expect highly melodic adult rock, laced with infectious boogie rock back-beats and some ballads.
Not easy to put into a box - Francis doesn't really sound like anyone else, except on his songs that are a bit Quo-ish!

Tearing up your lies and your promises in my head
One of these days you might just try the truth instead
Weβre never gonna work it out
Whatever this is all about
Iβve tried letting it go,
I canβt play your game anymore
So bye bye bye baby,
Cry, cry, cry
I donβt have to tell you why, baby why
I remember a time when everything felt right
Didnβt really matter where or when or day or night
Nothing in the world could ever wanna make us fight
But that was all yesterday
When we thought love was here to stay
Oh Iβve tried letting it go,
Itβs too late now so Iβm letting you know
I canβt play your game anymore
So bye bye bye baby,
Cry, cry, cry
I donβt have to tell you why, baby why
When you know that itβs over
And youβve just seen the light
Donβt look over your shoulder
Itβs goodbye
Oh Iβve tried letting it go,
Itβs too late now so Iβm letting you know
I canβt play your game anymore
So bye bye bye baby,
Cry, cry, cry
Oh Iβve tried letting it go,
Itβs too late now so Iβm letting you know
I canβt play your game anymore
So bye bye bye baby,
Cry, cry, cry
Oh Iβve tried letting it go
Iβve tried letting it go
Oh Iβve tried letting it go
In Francis Rossi's song "I've Tried Letting It Go," the singer expresses their frustration in a failed relationship. The lyrics suggest that the singer has been holding on to the false promises and lies of their partner, and even though they have attempted to let go of the relationship, they still feel the pain and anger towards their partner. In the first verse, the singer seems to be addressing their partner directly, suggesting that they should try to be honest instead of telling lies.
As the song progresses, the singer reminisces about a time when things were going well in the relationship, but that time has now passed. The line "When we thought love was here to stay" indicates that at some point, the couple was happy and in love, but that feeling has since faded.
The chorus is the climax of the song, with the phrase "bye bye bye baby" repeated multiple times as the singer tries to sever ties with their partner. The repetition of "cry, cry, cry," emphasizes the emotional pain the singer is feeling, but they're determined to move on from the toxic relationship. The last verse suggests that the singer has had a realization that the relationship is over, and it's time to move forward.
Overall, the song seems to be about the difficult process of ending a relationship and moving on from someone who has caused pain and heartache.
