Françoise Hardy signed her first contract with the record label Vogue in November 1961. In April 1962, shortly after finishing school, her first record Oh Oh Chéri appeared, written by Johnny Hallyday's writing duo. Her own flip side of the record, "Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles" became a success, riding the wave of Yé-yé music in France, with two million sales.
Hardy sang in French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German. In 1963 she came fifth for Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest with "L'amour s'en va". In 1963, she was awarded the Grand Prix Du Disque of the Charles Cros Academy.
In 1981, she married her long-time companion Jacques Dutronc, with whom she had had a son, Thomas Dutronc, in 1973. In 1994, she collaborated with the British pop group Blur for their "La Comedie" version of To The End. In May 2000, she made a comeback with the album Clair Obscur. Her son played guitar and her husband sang the duet "Puisque Vous Partez En Voyage." Iggy Pop and Étienne Daho also took part. Hardy lives near Paris and Dutronc lives in Monticello, Corsica, although they remain a couple.[citation needed]

Trop vite
Trou noir
Je suis tombée sans bruit
Tout au fond de la nuit
Tu pars
Je perds
Tout espoir
Qu'y faire
Qui parle de souffrir?
Quand je me sens mourir...
The French song "Je Suis de Trop Ici" by Françoise Hardy is about feeling like an intruder in a romantic relationship. The lyrics are describing a situation where the singer is in love with someone, but that person is already involved in a relationship. The singer is aware of the chemistry between the couple and how they are drawn to each other. She feels out of place and inadequate, despite having all the qualities that the other person may find attractive. The metaphor of a doe that has all the qualities to be tamed compares to the singer, but she feels like she is not worth fighting for.
The singer speaks directly to the object of her affection, describing all the qualities that make them desirable. The other person exudes charisma and mystery, and the singer knows that it is impossible to resist them. She describes their attraction as something magical and intense, but lethal to her. The singer feels like an intruder in the relationship, and her presence makes everything a little bit more dangerous. She is aware of her unrequited feelings, and they are slowly killing her inside. The song has a melancholic tone and leaves the listener with a feeling of longing and sadness.
