Born in Jamaica in 1965, Blake was born blind but as a child had his sight partially restored by an operation on a hospital ship. He sang for, and impressed Stevie Wonder when Wonder visited the school that Blake attended, prompting him to pursue a singing career.
Adopting the stage name Frankie Paul, he first found fame in the early 1980s, and he recorded prolifically throughout the decade. He has recorded for virtually every producer and studio in Jamaica at some time, and has been known to release several albums a year.
Notable works of Frankie Paul include the popular "Sara" and "Worries in the Dance".
Paul has resided in Gambia since 1994. In January 2016 he underwent surgery to amputate a foot and part of his leg.
Frankie Paul died on 18 May 2017 at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
Citation
"Frankie Paul has a voice that improves with each release and, although initially compared with Dennis Brown, he has evolved a strange nasal, throaty style that makes him sound much older. It's the sheer exuberance of his best performances that give away his youthfulness, and his two London appearances have been joyous occasions." - NME (4 May 1985)

Frankie Paul Lyrics

I'm on a roll
This time
I think my luck could change
Kill me Sarah
Kill me again
With love
Pull me out of the air crash
Pull me out of the lake
I'm your superhero
And we are standing on the edge
The head of state has called for me by name
But I don't have time for him
It's gonna be a glorious day
I feel my luck could change
Pull me out of the air crash
Pull me out of the lake
I'm your superhero
And we are standing on the edge
Oh, yes
Ohh, yes, yes
And we are standing on the edge
Frankie Paul's song "Lucky" is about hope, luck, and finding someone who can pull you out of any situation. The song begins with him saying he's on a roll, feeling like his luck could change. He then talks about being killed by Sarah, but it's with love, so it's going to be a glorious day. This could be interpreted as him being willing to take risks and know that no matter what happens, he'll be okay.
The chorus is about being someone's superhero and standing on the edge with them. It's a metaphor for standing on the edge of something big and exciting, but also being willing to take risks and be there for someone. The bridge talks about how the head of state has called for him, but he doesn't have time for him because he's focusing on his own luck and the potential for a glorious day.
Overall, the song is about having hope and being willing to take risks, even if they're scary. It's about finding someone who will stand on the edge with you and be your superhero no matter what.

In my opinion every bit as much a classic as the original album. It's amazing what a little bit of a reggae reworking can do.
@Agentbubble07
These covers of Radiohead by all of these guys, these arrangements are so excellent, as are the originals. My god, thank you.
