I was fortunate to hear the Master in 1947 at Orchestra Hall Chicago when I was a 7 year old violin student. He was 72 years old, but played a heavy program with seven encores. My father and I got to go backstage and meet him in person. They allowed that back then. What an inspiration for a young student!

It sounds beautiful for a man 75 and that suffered from a fracture to the skull by traffic collision
A kind and genuine human being . He was legendary

DEFCON 4

This LP was recorded when Kreisler was 75 years old in 1950. He was well past his prime. In 1941 he was run over by a truck in Manhattan and it took a lot of time to recover. He did a pretty good job for a man of 75!!

So charming! So wistful! Evokes almost unbearable nostalgia –– for a world that was never really mine.

What a joy to the Loves entanglement

So everlastingly grateful to have had his kindness and wonderful music in my life. Always an inspiration❤️

PaperGrape

This is the first time I've ever listened to Kreisler actually play. Incredible.

It sounds so beautiful...it amazes me so much!

This unprentencious "little piece" is so delicately played by the author that never ceases to amaze me! The RCA LP that I used was Part of a collection named: "Music America loves best" An attactive shiny siver lining contains many photos and notes of the artists. It was recorded in 1942.

Thanks for given me an awsome memorie of my beloved grandfather's favorite. For a minute i felt myself back to the livingroom, listening with him this record.
