In 1999, the band independently released their self titled EP (referred to as "The Green Album"). At this time, they were also opening for bands such as Amen, Disturbed, Nickelback and Nothingface.
They later signed with Arista Records, where they released two major label albums in One Nation Under (which features many re-recorded songs from their self titled album) (2001) and My So-Called Life (2003). They had two music videos which are for their songs "Check Ya" and "Smack", both of which can be viewed over on You Tube. Before the recording of My So-Called Life, bassist Rob Ruccia left the band to do production work on other bands, leaving vocalist Jett to record the bass for the album. They later recruited Avi Kopernik to play bass for the group's live shows.
After being dropped by Arista less than a month after the release of My So-Called Life, they went to work preparing for their third album. As time went on, writing music became a chore and Jett with nothing to fall back on, needed to concentrate on a day job to support his family. Joe Pettinato, who already had a construction business, then left the band, and the rest of the group called it quits in 2005. Two songs from the intended album, "Middle of the Road" and "My Own Destiny", can still be streamed on their official PureVolume page.
Although they have not gained widespread popularity within the music community as a whole, they are well recognized both in the Chicago area and among nu metal fans.
Circumstances
From Zero Lyrics

The sins of two of us
They're creeping out
Crawling out
Searching for some decency
Sold, my soul away
To keep you coming back
Calling back
[Chorus]
Desensitize me, you fool I can be
Anything you want me to
Just sit right back, are you with me, with me
If it happens to me
It'll happen to you sometime
Are you happy to see?
I learned my lesson too
Don't hesitate
You see me reaching out
Calling out
Is it all about your place up in society?
Last effort
Hooked and sold
But then you threw be back
Within a flash
You took out the trash
And wiped your hands above my face
[Chorus]
Cause it comes in time
Yes it comes in time
You'll learn your lesson too
Comes in time
Goes away
Leaves you blind
Rapes your mind
And it strips you of your sanity
Comes in time
Goes away
Leaves you blind
And it strips you of your sanity
If it happens to me
It'll happen to you sometime
A lesson I've learned in life
I've learned in life
The lyrics of From Zero's song "Circumstances" delve into the theme of losing oneself to keep someone else happy. The first stanza talks about washing away the sins of two people, indicating that both are struggling with something. The line "sold my soul away to keep you coming back" highlights the idea of sacrificing one's self-respect and dignity to maintain a relationship. It is a common occurrence to try to change what we are to fit in with someone else's idea of what we should be. The singer of the song has been convinced that he is crazy to do what he is doing. The chorus is a plea to desensitize him, but it comes across as a warning. He is willing to be anything anyone wants him to be just to fit in with the crowd.
The second stanza is a plea to the person he has been trying to please. He has sold his efforts, and he has been hooked and sold by them, but he has been thrown back, and the other person has taken the trash and wiped their hands, indicating that they want nothing to do with him. The final stanza talks about how this experience affects a person's life. The lessons learned through the hardships come with time and affect everyone. The line "leaves you blind and strips you of your sanity" illustrates the idea that these lessons are harsh, and they can completely transform a person. Overall, the song is an expression of a struggle to please others while trying to hold onto personal integrity.
