I'm gonna go back

Anything beyond compare

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Funkadelic's "Butt-To-Butt Resuscitation" appear to be a plea to be taken back to a place or time that holds great significance for the singer. The repetition of the phrase "I'm gonna go back" indicates a strong desire to return to this place, whatever it may be. The use of the word "there" suggests that the place being referred to is specific and perhaps familiar to the listener as well.

The second line, "Come and take me there," implies that the singer is unable to return on their own and requires someone else's assistance to do so. The repetition of the phrase "anything beyond compare" reinforces the idea that this place holds great importance and perhaps even holds the key to the singer's happiness or well-being.

Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of longing and nostalgia for a place or time that may no longer exist or is otherwise unattainable. The precise meaning behind the lyrics is left open to interpretation, allowing listeners to imbue their own experiences and memories into the song.

George had a problem giving hazel his dues hazel plays bass on this tune

Eddie composed the guitar riffs but once again GC didn't wanna credit hazel so he had mike Hampton copy eddies notes and redo them.fir this song

It's some other tunes mike studied eddies notes and recorded them while Eddie got no credit and people wonder why mike sounds like Eddie

Like Eddie said in his later years George stole everything from him he stole his ghost

But even though mike Hampton plays the lead on here this was hazel on bass

@Charles 91771 yes it's ten different stories in who did what Junie was really pissed when he heard the hip hop generation sample it over and over again be she Junie wasn't getting any royalties

All the music Junie did with pfunk and the Ohio players Junie received no royalties and funky worm.been sampled to death

Bernie was depressed over not getting no royaltyes over all.his beats like flashlight, aqua boogie, one nation, star child, Dr funkenstein that been reused over and over again and gotten no money whatsoever

Gc went behind everybody's back.and sold their rights and forging their signatures without even telling them.

Eddie was very sad and depressed about it and I think the heavy drinking and drugging came from all knowing your music been sampled I've and over and you receiving no money or credit

Gary, boogie, tiki, Tyrone lampkin, Junie, Bernie, ray, Calvin all died broke

Fuzzy just had a stroke and Grady was facing homelessness around the time he was getting his lifetime achievement award very funked up

Used to love Bernie's squeaks and squeals - but I could do without them to hear to real funk underneath! Love Bernie though! (amended: maybe just put them lower in the mix!!!)
