The band went through three different lead singers, Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), Jason Gleason(Affinity, and later ActionReaction) and finally Jon Bunch (Sense Field). The final line-up:
Jonathan Bunch - Vocals (Sense Field)
Josh Colbert - Guitar
Chad Neptune - Bass Guitar (Strongarm)
Steve Kleisath - Drums (Strongarm, Shai Hulud, En Masse)
Derick Cordoba - Guitar.

The band also appeared on numerous compilation discs such as Emo Diaries Volume 4, Punk Goes Pop, A Santa Cause: Its a Punk Rock Christmas, and Rock Music: A Tribute to Weezer.
In late 2005, FSF went on a long hiatus. And in January 2006, the band posted a message on their website announcing that their shows in early 2006 through the United States and Canada would be their last as a band. During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011

Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And heaven is waiting
For us to find her in our sites
With focus that's strong
But my strength keeps slipping
Now we're all the terminal cases
(We're all the terminal cases)
And those with defeat on their faces
(Those with defeat on their faces)
Are those that we must keep alive
And I admire your strength
You keep us going on
(You keep us going on)
You keep us going on
(You keep us going on)
You keep us fighting long
after the fire
You've measured our strides
Marked the degree of our fever
Charted the log
Made sure the temperature's rising
To fan the flames
And brandish our new courage proudly
As if it were ours from the outset
(As if it were ours from the outset)
As if we were never alone
The moon is down
And heaven is waiting
For callers and entries
As we're calling out
"This is ours, ours, ours
This one is ours!"
Now we're all the terminal cases
(We're all the terminal cases)
But we're so determined to thrive
And those with defeat on their faces
(Those with defeat on their faces)
Are those that we must keep alive
And I admire your strength
You keep us going on
You keep us going on
You keep us fighting long after the fire
The opening lines of the song, "The moon is down, and heaven is waiting for us to find her in our sight, with focus that's strong, but my strength keeps slipping" paints a bleak picture of a person who is struggling to keep up with the expectations that the heaven has set for them. They are determined to thrive, but their strength is slipping, and it appears that they are in dire need of help. However, the chorus of the song sheds a more positive light on the situation, repeating that they are all terminal cases, but they are determined to thrive, and they must keep those with defeat on their faces alive.

Fifteen years ago when I was in college, I started to put this CD on every time I had to write a research paper. Today, I am getting my masters and still go back to this album. I have probably written hundreds of papers to these guys! When i put it on, my brain knows it's go time!
Katie Long
Did you live on my hall? Because all I can think of when I hear this song is how many people blared it midweek after 10pm
Alex Kearney
Any more papers?

From what the comments say on these songs, I'm about 10 years too late for Further Seems Forever. I discovered them, like, a year ago. But I like them; that's all that matters, right?
Myle Koody
No. You’re late. That means you can’t listen to them. That’s why they recorded the songs, so that no one can listen to them after 24 hours has passed since finishing the recording
Joe Chung
It's sad Chris left before they really got to tour for this album
