In GO!GO!7188's song "nanashi", the lyrics describe the confusion and uncertainty of relationships and the struggles of trying to understand another person's feelings. The first verse asks how someone can know what their partner is feeling, with references to recent trends and fads indicating the constant changes in popular culture and societal norms. The second verse asks the direct question of whether the singer is loved by their partner, and the chorus acknowledges the limitations of words and the importance of physical connection in conveying emotions. The third verse acknowledges the pride and identity attached to certain possessions, and the bridge highlights the frustration of feeling like one should have already found fulfillment but still has to search for it in someone else.
