Evaporate

Kept alive by oxygen
But right now breathing is so tough.
They say they know what I can feel
And time will find a way to heal
But right now time is not enough.
I can feel the blood rushing again
When it’s too hard and too late,
When I’m too tired to run away
When it cant stay the way it was,
I need you ‘cause
You smash the trouble I can’t take
And all the pieces of the break
Evaporate, evaporate, evaporate
I don’t know how the words you say
Hold a thousands times more weight
Than any word I’ve heard before.
But then I feel you soaking in,
I can feel the blood rushing again
Through my veins, I can feel the pulse begin to race
When it’s too hard and too late
When I’m too tired to run away
When it can’t stay the way it was
I need you ‘cause
You smash the trouble I can’t take
And all the pieces of the break
Evaporate, evaporate, evaporate
Run, run, watch them run away
Fly, fly, make them fly away
When it’s too hard and too late
When I’m too tired to run away
When it can’t stay the way it was,
I need you, ‘cause
You smash the trouble I can’t take
And all the pieces of the break
Evaporate, evaporate, evaporate
Evaporate, evaporate, evaporate
The lyrics of Gabrielle Aplin's "Evaporate" describe a person who is struggling to breathe and find hope in a difficult situation. The first verse describes how our physical bodies are made up of flesh and bone, but our existence is reliant on oxygen to live. Despite this, breathing can become tough when we are feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. The person in the song is told that time will heal their pain, but they are not finding solace in this idea. However, as the song progresses, the person finds comfort in the presence of another person who is able to calm their anxieties and help them heal. They describe feeling their blood rushing again and their pulse racing, signaling a renewed sense of vitality. They come to the conclusion that the troubles they were experiencing gradually seem to evaporate, much like they were never there in the first place.
Overall, "Evaporate" is a heart-wrenching song about finding hope, love, and comfort in life's darkest moments. Oftentimes, people who are struggling just need someone to be there for them and show them that they are not alone.
