1) Triple threat. Many have claimed to possess it, yet finding an artist who has the ability to sing, dance and act is both hard to come by and an even harder quality to obtain. Enter: Gavin Turek. An unlikely character, Gavin turns out to be not at all what she seems. Behind the sweet monotone of her voice, innocent eyes and cascading curls, lies a talented artist. One who is in every sense a triple threat.
The L.A. native known for her incredible voice, is also an experienced dancer, actress, and spokes person for the world renowned make up brand Rimmel London. The Czechoslovakian African beauty began singing at a young age; writing her first song at the age of six.
Gavin's shows promise to be even better then her music. After spending time learning the rich culture and traditional dances of Ghana and India, Gavin took what she learned and incorporated it into her live shows. "The more shows I do, the more I will try to leave little remnants of the places I've been."
Gavin's career has just begun and is sure to be a successful one. Gavin will be releasing her music, an album that incorporates Indie, Pop, and Electronica through newly founded Sonata Cantata Records from Los Angeles, CA which was started by former EVE 6 and Monsters Are Waiting guitarist Jon Siebels. She will release her laptop remix project of her favorite RATATAT songs and if her single "Ring it" is any indication of what lies in store for the rest of the album, her fans are sure to be satisfied. The modest Gavin Turek wrapped up our Venice beach interview by saying, " I never took myself seriously, and I don't know that I still do."

Long Night
Gavin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sneaky undertones give way to adventure
Don't tell me what to believe
No, don't tell me when to be free
Hatch another tale for you to sell
Story's getting stale, we know the smell
You like 'em in submission
You underrate their intuition
They won't ask for your permission
Dinner jacket, how's the rabbit taste on your tongue?
Finer palate, how's your dad's estate?
Are you looking for love?
Copacetic, manifest and get the deal done
Fight the, fight the, fight the, fight the revolution
Long nights in jail
I think I met the one, he posted my bail
Took me to Heaven when we manned up and scaled
Eleven stories making plans
To fight the, to fight the revolution
Get up out my house, I know you're both lying
You look older than your age, and yeah, I think you're dying
I'll shoot you in my yard, I love to hear crying
Get up out my house bitch, I ain't Bryan
Don't tell me what to believe
No, don't tell me when to be free
Save it for the sheep already tamed
I answer to me, unashamed
You like 'em in submission
But all you give is ammunition
You underrate their intuition
They won't ask for your permission
Dinner jacket, how's the rabbit taste on your tongue?
Finer palate, how's your dad's estate?
Are you looking for love?
Copacetic, manifest and get the deal done
Fight the, fight the, fight the, fight the revolution
Long nights in jail
I think I met the one, he posted my bail
Took me to Heaven when we manned up and scaled
Eleven stories making plans
To fight the, to fight the revolution
Get up out my house, I know you're both lying
You look older than your age, and yeah, I think you're dying
I'll shoot you in my yard, I love to hear crying
Get up out my house bitch, I ain't Bryan
In "Long Night" by Gavin, the lyrics delve into themes of rebellion, independence, and the rejection of societal norms and expectations. The song takes a critical stance toward those who try to control or manipulate others, urging listeners to resist such influence and embrace their own freedom. The opening lines, "Can't defend your code, nothing lasts forever, Sneaky undertones give way to adventure," suggest that the singer is challenging someone's beliefs or rules, implying that they are superficial and transient. They refuse to be dictated to or told what to believe or when to be free.
The lyrics also address the notion of storytelling and manipulation. Lines such as "Hatch another tale for you to sell, Story's getting stale, we know the smell" imply that the person being challenged often resorts to creating false narratives or twisting the truth to maintain control. The singer criticizes their attempts to subjugate others, pointing out that they only provide ammunition, not fulfillment or true understanding. The lyrics suggest that those in power underestimate the intuition and strength of the people they try to control, asserting that they won't ask for permission.
The chorus references a dinner jacket and asks about the taste of rabbit, alluding to a luxurious and indulgent lifestyle. It questions the person's motives, whether they are truly seeking love or simply seeking material gain. The line "Fight the, fight the, fight the, fight the revolution" is a call to action, urging listeners to resist oppression and fight for change.
In the second verse, the lyrics become more confrontational. The singer asserts their authority and demands that deceitful individuals leave their house. The harsh language and violent imagery convey a sense of frustration and anger towards those who try to manipulate or deceive them. The lyrics reiterate the singer's determination to be free and not conform to societal expectations.
Overall, "Long Night" is a song that encourages rebellion, self-determination, and independence. It criticizes those who seek to control or manipulate others and urges listeners to fight for their freedom, their beliefs, and their own personal revolutions.
