Between 2008 and 2011 her distinctive vocals could be heard in a variety of projects. She recorded Le Temps des Cerises (feat. Geike Arnaert) with Flemish icon, Bobbejaan Schoepen. In 2008 she teamed up with Tom Helsen for the 2008 Music For Life theme song, Home. In 2010 Geike formed the band Dorleac with Dutchman, Erik de Jong (a.k.a. Spinvis). Their Dorleac album was used as the main score for the Flemish film, 'Adem'.

Sirens Call
Geike Lyrics

'Cause every step I take
Is like falling forever
Ready for winter
Before it's even close
Your lashes brushed away
Am I forgiven?
I'm not looking for relief
There are better ones to please
I hear their voices, what they say
Red glow bouncing off my skin
Blue light finding its way in
Dressed down, covered in
My reverse, my corpse
Try to see me from outside
Catch my autumn rays
Please don't turn my way
We're just playing
With plastic swords
I hear the sirens, the sirens call
But I'm not looking for relief
There are better ones to please
I hear their voices, what they say
Red glow bouncing off my skin
Blue light finding its way in
I'll end up some memory
We know
I hear the sirens, the sirens call
But I'm not looking for relief
There are better ones to please
I hear their voices, what they say
Red glow bouncing off my skin
Blue light finding its way in
I hear the sirens, the sirens call
I hear the sirens, the sirens call
Geike's song Sirens Call is a haunting and poetic representation of the internal conflicts and struggles that the singer is going through. The lyrics paint a picture of someone who feels like they are constantly being watched and judged, every step they take feels like they are falling deeper into their own confusion. They are ready for the cold winter, but it's not even close, they are trying to prepare themselves for something that hasn't happened yet.
The singer talks about their own sense of guilt and whether or not they are forgiven for their past mistakes, but they are not looking for relief or forgiveness from anyone else. They hear the sirens call, representing the temptation to follow their destructive path or give in to their desires even if they know it's not the right thing to do.
The last lines of the song show the resignation of the singer that they'll simply end up as a memory. It's a solemn and introspective song that explores the idea of being your own worst enemy and trying to resist the temptation to give in to your own desires.

I'm so very glad that the volume of the commentary dwarfs the vocals. /s
