Con esfuerzo me he pasado trabajando
Me metí duro en la mafia
Ahora soy bien respetado
Me aprendieron varios años
Estoy junto a mi familia
Suena la banda en el rancho
Pues me lleno de alegría
Hay momentos de trabajo
Con esfuerzo me he pasado trabajando
Me metí duro en la mafia
Ahora soy bien respetado
Me aprendieron varios años
Y ya abrieron los candados
El deseo por la revancha
El respeto y hay palabra
Se mantuvo intacta mi posición
The lyrics of Gerardo Ortiz's "Soy Caro" are a celebration of his roots as a humble plebe from Badiraguato and his current status as a respected and wealthy member of the mafia. Ortiz reminisces about his childhood in the "rancho" and the importance of family and friends in his life. He acknowledges the hard work he has put in to reach his current position, and how he has never forgotten where he came from.
The second half of the song focuses more on his current status and the power he holds. He boasts about his well-organized team and the ease with which he is able to get things done, thanks to the support of the military and government. Despite his wealth and power, Ortiz asserts that he cannot be bought and that he has earned his position through hard work and determination. Overall, the lyrics present a complex picture of Ortiz's life and identity, combining nostalgia for his humble beginnings with pride in his current status and accomplishments.
