Growing up in Florida, Whitney was originally a guitar player for hardcore and doom metal bands.[3] Whitney moved to Los Angeles, California after starting his career as a rapper eventually finding success in the underground.
Eric Whitney was born 15 April 1991 in Lake Worth, Florida to parents from New York. Whitney grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a teenager, he was in several bands and played the guitar which introduced him to music. He also played football whilst in High School, saying he was practically forced to by his father, who died when Whitney was seventeen.
Whitney was introduced to rap music when he was the guitarist in the hardcore punk band Nemesis and a bandmate introduced him to Memphis rap.
Whitney graduated from university after studying astrophysics and was eventually employed in a position earning $65,000 annually. In 2015, Whitney moved to Los Angeles, California due to his music not thriving in Southern Florida, giving up his employment at the same time. Meeting up with JGRXXN, Whitney joined his collective Schemaposse which included artists such as the now-deceased Lil Peep and Craig Xen.
In April 2016, Schemaposse disbanded leaving Whitney not associated with any group. Whitney eventually began to associate with the popular underground group $uicideboy$ and fellow Florida rapper Pouya. Pouya released the video for "1000 Rounds" with Ghostemane in April 2017.The video quickly went viral and as of May 2018, has nearly 9 million views.
In 2018 Whitney released his 10th album, "N / O / I / S / E" (No One Is Safe from Evil). The album has a very dark and aggressive style and it deals a lot with self-harm, self-mutilation, agoraphobia, and many other issues Ghostemane has dealt with personally. N / O / I / S / E was released by surprise on 10th October 2018, as it was supposed to drop on 17th October of the same year.

Everybody packing heat in they waistband
Smog filling up the sky far as you can see
I'm trying to get the killers back
For what they did to me
Leather jacket, black boots and a fresh cut
Top long, sides gone, hoes going nuts
I'm on a quest, let me end up
Tell me what I need to know
And that's for the best
Come across a few friends if
You call them that
Count 'em on one hand, but no more than that
You see a lot of
Motherfuckers that won't hesitate
To leave you dead and alone
Burning at the stake
At least I got my Pip-Boy, least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip (Trey V)
I be thinking too much about anything
Nothing don't matter, shit
I keep pretending to, always so hesitant
I see another friend up in the room with you
Who get rid of it, keeping your mouth shut
Stuck in a rut
All I ever needed was a big fat butt
In my face, and a little bit of cash
Everything else, take care of it'self
I'm ready to shop at the top of the shelf
Help, defendin' himself, don't blame myself
But everyone else
Throw a pity party likes it's 1999
Since you wanna be in the time
I'm bringing the future phonk
Ask me if I give a fuck
If someone you know has done it before
Will do it no better, then no doubt about it
Them motherfuckers ain't about it
At least I got my Pip-Boy, least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip
Least I, least I got my Pip-Boy
Least I got my Pip
You see the land radiate in the missions
It's clear to me now
That everybody you know is
Dead and gone underground
Them bodies never found
But now they're here and it's on
The ghost that scared them the most
Was they own soul
You may not understand where I'm
Where I'm at in my mind
But you gon' know by the time
We're done killing your time
I'm not a rapper
I'm an entity who know how to rhyme
I dare you to find another
Light be in our time
He skates, smokes, drinks
(yeah) and even takes psychedelics (Whoa)
He gets so pissed that he
Breaks shit in his room (God damn it)
Shortly before fucking his bitch to sleep
(Moaning) he's GHOSTEMANE

The lyrics of "Outland" by GhosteMane paint a picture of a dystopian wasteland where violence and danger are pervasive. The singer describes the bleak landscape outside his door, filled with people armed and ready for confrontation. He expresses a desire for revenge against those who have wronged him, displaying a tough exterior with his leather jacket and black boots. Though he acknowledges a few acquaintances, he emphasizes the treacherous nature of the world, where betrayal and abandonment are commonplace.
The chorus of the song focuses on the singer's attachment to his Pip-Boy, a reference to the iconic gadget from the video game series Fallout. It symbolizes his connection to a virtual world where he can escape the harsh reality around him. Through the repetition of "at least I got my Pip-Boy," he reveals a sense of solace and stability in this virtual refuge.
The second verse delves into the singer's state of mind, highlighting his tendency to overthink and worry about every little thing. He mentions seeing a friend in a compromising situation but chooses to keep quiet, possibly out of self-preservation in this dangerous environment. He sarcastically mentions the superficial pursuit of money, implying that material possessions and wealth are insignificant compared to other priorities. The verse ends with a proclamation of readiness to face any challenge, while disregarding the opinions and actions of others.
The final verse takes a metaphysical turn, suggesting that the ghosts haunting the people in this wasteland are their own souls. The mention of bodies never being found suggests a mysterious and haunting atmosphere. The singer asserts his unique perspective, claiming to be more than just a rapper but an entity with a deep understanding of rhyme and storytelling. He challenges the listener to try and find another like him in their time, implying his uniqueness and individuality in a sea of conformity.
Overall, "Outland" explores themes of isolation, survival, and the pursuit of escapism in a desolate landscape. It reflects GhosteMane's signature blend of dark, introspective lyrics and aggressive delivery.
