1) Gjallarhorn is a Finnish band that performs world music with roots in the folk music of Finland and Sweden. The band's music echoes the ancient folk music tradition of Scandinavia with medieval ballads, minuets, prayers in runo-metric chanting and ancient Icelandic rímur epics in a modern way. The group is named after the Gjallarhorn of Norse mythology.
Gjallarhorn was formed in 1994 on the west coast of Finland, in the Swedish speaking area, by Jenny Wilhelms, Christopher Öhman (viola, mandola) and Jacob Frankenhaeuser (didgeridoo). The band started as a trio but became a quartet with percussion in 1996. The band has been a quartet ever since.
The music of the band remains Swedish in character. Most of their repertoire is the acoustic folk music of these Swedish-speaking Finns, from the unique minuets and ballads that have only survived in Ostrobothnia, to the old traditional waltzes. The didgeridoo and sub-contrabass recorder offer an underlying drone, a technique shared by some other Nordic bands such as Garmarna. Also notable is their use of the hardanger fiddle and Jenny Wilhelms' kulning, a high-pitched, wordless vocal technique based on traditional Scandinavian cattle-herding calls.
2) Gjallarhorn is an Italian epic/Viking metal band, whose lyrical themes mainly deal with those of Ragnarok. They have only released one album, Nordheim (2005). Their style is somewhat reminiscent of Hammerheart-era Bathory, with slow epic songs performed with clean vocals. Three members of Gjallarhorn also play in the epic-metal band Doomsword.
3) Gjallarhorn is a black-metal band from Kherson, Ukraine.

Maalfri min fruve
Kver morgo for din dør her stå
Tora lille
Nei de e inkje den gangar grå
De e bara mine jesar små
Tora lille
Hot e de fy eit forgyllande spjut
Kver morgo for di bur her stå
Tora lille
Nei de e inje fogyllande spjut
De e bara soli skin in å ut, in å ut
- de e inkje noko forgyllande spjut
Tora lille
Tora ligger å lurar, å lurar
Hot e de fy sylvspente sko
Kver morgo for din sengij stå
Tora lille
Nei de e inkje de sylvspente skor
De e bare ternas tøfflar små
Nei de e inkje noko sylvspente skor
Tora lille
Tora ligger å lurar
Nei de e inkje dei tøfflar små
Me smale healr å brei for tå
Tora lille
Tora ligger å lurar, å lurar
The song "Tora Lille" by Gjallarhorn is a hauntingly beautiful traditional Norwegian track with deep meaning and poetic lyrics. The song speaks to the singer's desire to be with a woman named Tora, who he admires and longs for. The first stanza speaks of a gray wanderer who appears at Tora's doorstep every morning. The gray wanderer is a symbol of the singer's longing to be with Tora. The second stanza speaks of a gilded spear that appears at Tora's door every day. The spear is a symbol of the beauty and preciousness of Tora herself, and the singer's desire to possess her.
The third stanza speaks of silver-shod shoes that appear by Tora's bedside every morning. These shoes are a symbol of the singer's desire to be with Tora in bed, to be close to her physically. However, each of these symbols is ultimately revealed to be something else entirely, something ordinary and simple. The gray wanderer is the singer himself, coming to Tora's door every day in the hopes of seeing her. The gilded spear is merely the sun shining into Tora's home, and the silver-shod shoes are only the small slippers of the tern, a seabird. The singer's desires are revealed to be nothing more than mere illusions, but his longing for Tora remains just as strong.
In conclusion, "Tora Lille" by Gjallarhorn is a song about the beauty and pain of longing. It portrays the singer's desire for a woman he admires as symbols of beauty, which are ultimately revealed to be mundane and ordinary. The lyrics are poetic and powerful, portraying the raw emotion of the singer in his longing for Tora.
